Your life from childhood to adulthood had completely changed, you went from a scared child that would cower in the corner and not eat for days on end; too terrified of the consequences you would face from your so-called parents if you even dared to ask for a basic necessity and a small child that would wear far too many clothes just to cover the marks that laced your skin. To a happy woman who leads a great, happy life and is supported by brilliant people, especially your amazing boyfriend Sebastian.

There were many reasons for your life doing a complete 180' turn, firstly your school discovered it and got the authorities involved leading to your parents being incarcerated, secondly despite your difficult home life you kept up your grades meaning you could go to a brilliant university and support yourself and lastly, and perhaps most importantly, you met Seb the love of your life he really helped you disassociate from your previous life and show you how much positivity was in the future you could share together.

And Seb really was your leading light who was there for every step of the long journey, he was the one who taught you how to eat a full meal again the one who stayed by your side when you had to have surgery to repair that damage that had been caused at another's hand, you owed him absolutely everything, because without him you don't know if you still be here because he loved you when you couldn't love yourself.

You felt so guilty, so so guilty because since you got yourself out of your messed up situation Seb had dealt with most of the aftermath, helping you arrange police interviews and going with you to every meeting always making sure that you were okay and that you always fully understood everything that was going on.

And you could see the pain and utter heartbreak that it brought him every time he had to listen to someone retell the story, everytime someone would bring the photos of the scars out to help strengthen your case. You didn't really know why Seb was so uncomfortable with the situation, maybe it was because he didn't like seeing you in such a vulnerable state or perhaps it was because he felt guilty that he couldn't have saved you sooner; possibly it could've been a mixture of both.

One day, when you came back from work to the home you shared with Sebastian, there was a letter that was patiently waiting for you to open it; not thinking too much of it you quickly ripped it opened it and started to read its contents.

Then you came crashing back down to earth as when you read the letter it disclosed that your Father had a court hearing tomorrow to decide if he would be released from prison; you felt as though everything that you had worked tirelessly for had just been destroyed and that you were right back in that dark place you grew up in, the same place you tried so hard to forget.

With tears streaming down your face and trembling hands, you quickly hid the letter deep in the 'messy draw' and dried your eyes, knowing that Seb would be home any second and if he saw you in this broken state he would insist to know what was wrong and the would set about fixing it; not that you weren't extremely grateful for everything that he's done but you didn't want to give him more issues to deal with as he was already so so busy and you didn't want to bother him with your daddy issues.

"Liebe I'm home, where are you" Seb shouted through your home, blissfully unaware of the emotional turmoil that was unfolding in his girlfriend's life.

"I'm in bed" You replied as you thought that if you faked ill it would knock him off the scent and he wouldn't suspect that your pain was mental, not physical.

Minutes later Seb came crashing into your shared bedroom but quickly simmered down when he saw you curled into a ball under the covers of the bed, you weren't totally lying the sudden revelations has made you feel sick.

"Baby, you should've told me you were ill I would have come home sooner " Seb stated his voice slightly agitated knowing you are always one to suffer silence but nevertheless rushing to your side.

You only hummed in response, not wanting to speak as you knew if he heard your voice he would know you were lying instantly as he knew you better than you knew yourself, that was just one of the many things you loved about his perfect self.

"I'll go and see about getting you some soup and tea than my love", and off he went downstairs to go and get you some of the things that were supposed to magically make people better when they were ill.

Little did you know that when Seb was looking for some painkillers he stumbled into the 'messy draw' he found the letter with the details of your father's court hearing, at first he was angry that you kept this from him yet once he thought about it for a minute he realised that the reason for you not telling him had nothing to do with him but was all to do with how insecure you were and all your bad past experiences with needing a person resulted in you becoming a punching bag typically meaning you came away with a broken bone.

Then he hatched his own plan, he concluded that there was no point in upsetting you and making a pointless argument out of this; he thought that it was better that he just supported you in your own decisions rather than trying to influence them.

//// At court////

As you were sat there with silent tears drowning your face, with the court retelling the horrendous story of how you were kept without basic necessities and how you were kept as a slave within your own childhood home, it was all getting too much, far too much you didn't realise how much someone retelling the story of your own life could have so much of a devastating effect after so much time had passed.

Just as you were about to get up and leave as it had all gotten too much, you felt a comforting hand slide gently around your shoulder and offer you a tissue to dry the tears you didn't realise were forming so quickly.

Despite Sebastian's best efforts to comfort you, people sitting around and putting your horrific childhood under a microscope was all too much and Sebastian knew this and quickly whisked you out of there and took you back to the safety of his car were the two of you would be able to be alone.

"So it's just you and your parliament of one nowadays is it" Seb laughed trying to break the sombre mood, and it worked because it caused you to giggle even in your poor mood, only he could make you laugh when there wasn't anything to laugh about.

" I just didn't want to bother you with my issues, I come with more baggage than Beyonce" you retaliated finally feeling a glimmer of happiness in the destitute

" I love you, with your past included"

" well it's a good job you accept my past because it's not going anywhere, I love you too"
