I walked down the stairs as the sun shone through the window. My hair was up in a bun and I wore a gray hoodie with sweatpants. I was so sleepy. My makeup had smudged around my eyes because I had gone right to bed yesterday when I got home. As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I noticed Taylor was eating cereal in front of the TV. He looked really concentrated, like most guys look like when they watch TV anyway. When he saw me walk by him, he got up and came to sit in the kitchen, turning the TV off before doing so. I went in the cabinet and grabbed a bowl and prepared myself a bowl of cereal. Once I had put away the milk, I sat on the counter and started eating. Taylor decided to break the silence, “How did you do that yesterday?”

I turned toward him and put my bowl down, “I- I don’t know. It just happened. Everything I wanted to do just happened.”

He looked confused, “But you’re still hungry! I mean, you don’t even need a drop of blood.”

“Obviously I’m still hungry!” I laughed, “Why would I want blood? I get sick at the sight.”

Taylor still had a very confused look on his face. He went back to eating and so did I.

“I don’t get it! You don’t get disgusted by our smell and vampires can’t throw fire out of their hands! Beverly you’re just so weird!” he burst out. I was surprised.

“I don’t know,” I said, “but yes, I am pretty weird eh!” I winked at him.

“Was that a car?” I asked. Taylor nodded and wiped his greasy hands on a cloth before stepping out of the garage. We had spent the morning fixing a motorcycle. Actually Taylor was the only one working because I didn’t really know what to do. So I simply watched and passed the tools Taylor would ask for. A few seconds after he had stepped out of the garage, I heard a growl.

“Oh shit!” I mumbled. I dropped the wrench that I had been wiping on a cloth and ran outside. My whole body froze when I witnessed who our visitors were. My eyes became round and my mouth dropped open.

“Beverly!” yelled Janis. She had a different haircut. All her hair was curled as before it was straight all the time. She had a huge smile on and looked beautiful, glowing. She ran to hug me, but immediately pulled back, both hands on my shoulders, both hands on my shoulders. Her nose was crinkled as she looked at me.

“You stink!” she let out. I started laughing, “Well, thank-you?!”

She pulled back, “No, you really smell weird. Like a mixture of wet dog and vamp-”

Connor appeared with his hand on her mouth. Two seconds ago, he was aside their silver convertible, but now he was facing me.

“It’s nice to see you again, Beverly,” he smiled. Wow, was he beautiful! Unlike Janis, he hadn’t changed one bit; He was exactly the same: tall, dark hair placed perfectly; His eyes were still aquamarine. I saw Taylor’s big furry body come stand beside me; He had turned into a werewolf when he had seen Connor. Taylor’s fur brushed against my left arm. Janis still had her nose crinkled. She looked at Taylor, “Cute, but stinky.”

She smiled. I laughed, “Why are you guys here?”

“We got a call from furry here,” said Janis, proud for no apparent reason.

“What about?” I asked.

“You,”

“Me?”

“No, about the wall! Of course you!”

“I don’t get it,”

“Not long ago, Connor bit you because we had planned that you become a vampire like us and then you could come and live with us, but nothing usual happened,”
