It was 9 days since I was granted my freedom, and today I decided to go to Zatanna's house, I've known her since I was a child and I feel like although we're totally different, I can't live without her.
"Astrauriel!?" Zattana shouted "Really? It's the third time you zone out while the Dragon Tongue is boiling, if you don't pay attention it's going to get burnt and I, sure as hell, am not going to ask those filthy guards to let me go through the gate again" she uttered as she leaped to her bed.
I can't stop thinking about what Shawn said. Ever since the day that I was teaching Archery to Faye and Nathan.
"You don't need to be so aggressive, you know that I'm not good with witchcraft and wizardry, and I already told you that you shouldn't be doing this, you can't slut your way through getting burnt alive" I said waving a giant wooden spoon in the air.
"Just stir it and be quiet, I don't want my neighbor to snitch on me again, the last time I had to pair her 4 golden crowns for her not to go and tell what I was doing to the garrison's commander" Zatanna said while piercing her wooden cabinet with a knife.
"If you keep letting your anger out like this your house won't be intact in a week" I chuckled.
"You know what? That surely sounds a great idea" she stabbed the cabinet again.
The sound of the wooden cabinet being stabbed got baffled by the sound of Zatanna's door getting kicked down by fully armoured .
"What do you think you're doing?" Zatanna mumbled as she tried to get the knife out of the cabinet's door.
"Austrariel, the King has sent me here to escort you to his chambers, we have to go, now!" The strange figure announced.
"No!" I screamed as he tried to grab my harm.
I kicked him back as I saw a small glass vial fly and hit the steel armour.
"We have to run" Zatanna said as she helped me get up.
"What did you do to him?" I said chocked as i noticed the massive chunk of ice that grew on his right calf.
"He'll be fine" she pulled me.
"King Willem is dead" he firmly announced taking his helmet off "My name is Kurt and Prince Shawn sent me here to get you to safety".
"No thank you, we're fine" Zatanna said and then opened her back door " Astra, let's go" she extended her arm waiting for me to grab her hand.
"I can't runaway Zatanna, they need me" I confidently point out.
"Please come with me now while we still have the chance" Kurt begged as he used the handle of his axe to break the ice that kept him stuck.
"If what you're saying is true, then how did he die and who killed him?" Zatanna asked oblivious.
"King Willem was murder during his morning walk in his garden, he was hit by 2 blow darts covered in snake blood and now King Rodrick's troops are coming through the main gates, you're not safe here! " he stated looking out the window.
"Dried snake blood isn't effective and we're having heat waves all over the country, how did he still get poisoned?" Zatanna asked confused.
"We don't know yet, but we really need to go now" Kurt said starting to get impatient.
"I'm not going without Zatanna, if I go with you, she comes with me" I demanded as i walked closer to Kurt.
"Actually, i might not go with you" Zatanna slowly waked away " I have to go to the lake to get more Mandaroot, meet me at high noon (overwatch reference, sorry XD) in the sewers" she ran through the back door.
"Be careful" I shouted and then turned to Kurt "Take me to Shawn".
"Yes my Lady" he said bowing his head slightly and walking out Zatanna's house, making sure i was following him.
We walked through the pillaged village, watching it slowly fall apart as the flames consumed the wooden walls.
"Rodrick's army did this? " I asked as I looked around.
"Yes, in a matter of seconds, a tenth of the town was plundered. Now getting the Royal Family safe is the priority" Kurt stated.As we made our way to the castle, the devastation caused by King Rodrick's army.
"So... after we get out, what is going to happen?" I ask intrigued.
"We head south, with the Reinhardt's lake as destination" he said making sure the path was clear to continue.
"Who's "we"?
"Me you and who's left of the Royal Family when we get there" Kurt explained.
"Aren't they supposed to be somewhere safe?"
"Yes, but when King Willem was murdered Queen Cecilia lost her mind and decided to barricade the Castle with Shawn and Cornelia inside.
"What about Faye?" I ask worried.
"She disappeared, the last time someone saw her she was walking with King Willem, and now she's nowhere to be found" he said as we reached the entrance.
"Are we supposed to climb up using that rope that's hanging on the window of the Tower?"
I look up and see a big tower with a sisal rope hanging out of the narrow window.
"Mind if I go first?" he chuckled and grabbed the rope.
