I get up and walk over to my drawer. I pull out some folden black skinny jeans, a plain white tee and a gray hoodie. I fitted them on and checked to see how I looked. I saw myself with my hair messily tossed to my left side. My blond hair was in strands so I grabbed my brush and went downstairs to find Aaron and Emily eating Apple Jacks.
"Jasmine?" I heard my Aunt call from the pantry.
Yeah, I bet you didn't think I was named after a flower. Interesting story. My mom met my dad at the garden where he was looking for a flower for his dead friends' funeral to send him away with... at the time she bumped into him wearing a jasmine in her hair. He apoligized and told her his story. She kissed his cheek and gave him the flower. Of all people, Ronny D. James. My father.
"Yeah Sarah?" I replied as I snuck a muffin out of the bowl display. Normally I eat my breakfast first before I continue my day of endless snacks... but that was summer! Now i'm involved with this thing called "High school." I do not want to be late and get stuck with uncalled for time at school.
"SCHOOL STARTS IN 20 minutes!" I heard her yell. "Do you want me to drive you?" she added. The thought of her pulling in front in her 60's car makes shivers go down my spine.
"Um.. no I think I will walk today..." I said quietly. She looked at me and raised her eyebrow. She nodded her head in approval.
"Bye" I run over to her through the kitchen and to the laundry room where she is folding Aarons pajamas.
"Call me if you need me!" she says with a suspicious tone.
Aunt Sarah took us into care when Grandpa Joe died, and Grandma got to old to take care of us. I walk out the door with my book bag.
