Miho looked up.
She saw 5 Ju-87 Stuka dive bombers swooping down onto their position.
"Incoming aircraft!!!" One of the pilots yelled.
"TOO LATE, EVERYONE GET DOWN!!"
The roaring Jericho Trumpets screamed loudly, the sound rumbling everyone's soul.
At the climax of the bombers' run they dropped their deadly payloads.
Yuzu looked up and saw a bomb fall through the air all in a split second.
The bombers pulled away, and death and chaos ensued.
Miho poked her head up, she looked to her friends and her sister, they were fine.
She looked behind her, and saw burning people desperately crawling out of a burning tank, their clothes and flesh melting off their bones.
She looked at the helicopters, one Chinook was hit and disabled by shrapnel.
As the Scorcher bombers flew off the sound of their sirens left as well.
Only the sound of the helicopters remained.
Miho slowly looked up and paused in silence, she saw a black statue, except it wasn't a statue... It was a charred skeletal person completely roasted in her spot, the immense heat from the bombs completely barbecued her. Along with another girl at her knees crying out to the burnt figure, not accepting the fact that she was long dead.
To the right of her she saw Alina lying on the ground...without the lower half of her body... She held onto her intestines and attempted to put them back in.
She cries out, "Miss Miho...why are my insides on the outside?!" But Miho was in a dazed and confused state.
Miho looked around seeing more death and tragedies, her ears ringed and she couldn't tell what was happening.
She heard screaming, yelling and the growing cry of the Stuka bombers coming back for another run.
Someone grabbed her, Miho turned around confused, hearing someone yell her name.
She focused her eyes and saw Yukari's face holding hers, "Miho, we have to go!!"
Miho suddenly snapped back into reality, knowing the bombs would fall again soon.
Yukari pulled her up to her feet, both running for their Panzer IV.
Everyone scrambled for either their tanks or the helicopters. Though both were risky options.
"We're getting out of here! Get on or stay!" Yelled one of the crewmen of the Osprey. The other remaining Chinook began to take off as well.
The Scorchers were able to sneak up on the aircraft almost completely undetected until it was too late. They used some sort of stealth technology to mask their movement.
Miho hastily crawled in, "Let's go they need our help!"
Mako already in the driver seat moved the tank towards those who needed help or cover.
"The bombers are back!!" Yelled a student before ducking under a nearby tank.
It was obvious that they were coming, the Stukas already making a dive down onto their position.
"This is the Ooari Academy ship, our helicopters are retreating. Unknown vehicles spotted west of your position."
They received their message, and pleaded for back up.
Maho looked to the west, where the out of place hill was. And didn't see anything unusual.
"What do they look like?" Asked Miho,
There was a pause, the escaping helicopters scouting as they left.
"It appears to be armoured vehicles."
Maho paused, "How many?"
After a quick glance they came up with a guess.
"Estimation, 50+"
That statement alone made Maho shiver... 50+ tanks? The girls didn't even have a quarter of that let alone tanks with ammo.
It would be a slaughter.
Maho thought, and concluded they shouldn't attack, but defend and hold out until the military arrived. Besides, the Scorcher aircraft proved they were enough to take them out.
Maho radioed in with Miho, not letting the incoming Stuka dive bombers intimidate her.
"Sister, we have company."
After debriefing Miho on the spot, Maho took command of the tanks that were combat capable, and Miho led the others home.
The Stukas proved to be frightening, but their bomb payloads could only be useful if they are a direct hit, otherwise it's useless against the thick carbon nanotube coated walls of the tankery vehicles.
A boom was heard in the distance.
It turns out the military helicopters were shot down by incoming dive bombers.
Leaving the girls more alone and defenceless. It seemed they would have to fight one more time.
Run after run, the bombers delivered their terrifying packages of destruction. But things would seem otherwise, because the bombers made their final run.
The dive bombers left in the same formation as they arrived in.
Miho watched the planes fly off into the distance, but she could sense something.
"Miho look out!!"
She turned around to see a glowing shell hurdle towards them.
"Mako full rever-"
The shell hit their Panzer IV.
Miho closed her eyes and hoped the flames or shrapnel would take her life quickly.
But nothing happened.
Miho opened her eyes. She glances down at her hands, and then her crew.
What? I'm fine?
Their tank was already backing up, and Miho investigated the damage.
"Where'd that round come from?!"
Yelled a voice.
The shell had struck the right side of the Panzer IV's turret. It should have drilled straight through with that 90° angle it hit.
After analyzing the damage Miho came to a quick conclusion. The shell hit the turret and did nothing, only blowing off an armour panel.
Miho's radio buzzed, "Miho...on the hill..." Uttered Maho.
Miho hesitantly looked up to the hill they were meant to pass.
...uh oh...
The defending girls watched in shock.
A wall of tanks came into view. The tanks aiming their guns at the group.
The Scorchers were positioned by the hill, aiming down at Miho.
Then something became apparent.
These tanks weren't your usual WW2 vehicles. But rather a collection of lost and odd relics and tankettes, some even Yukari couldn't identify.
Suddenly Miho realized that all the guns fired simultaneously at her tank.
She saw a wall of glowing lights fly towards her and her crew.
Adrenaline allowed Miho to experience time as if it were slow motion.
She knew her tank couldn't hold against that many projectiles.
Miho said her last goodbye, and closed her eyes, knowing she they would stay closed for good...
Authors notes: just another quick part. I wanted to extend this chapter out, as its the last actual chapter in the story. And it's also easier on the writer(me).
