To your surprise, you were fine the two days Jungkook was gone. Lonely, but fine. Gossip was heard from the halls as you walked out of school on the second day; informing you of the reason why.
"Have you heard? The new guy..."
"The cute one..."
"He's unpredictable. Kicked him in the head..."
"Maybe he's crazy? Well he does hang out with (Y/N)..."
All the echoes and words made sense. Everyone was afraid of Jungkook, so didn't want to pick on you out of fear of a strike to the noggin. You smiled softly to yourself and ran out of the building leaving the gossiping teens behind you.
You planned on visiting Jungkook right after school upon his request, but your eager retreat was halted when you saw a sign hanging up on the school's news board.
You didn't tend to pay attention to such things and rolled your eyes upon reading the words before realizing you now had another reason to look.
FALL SPORTS SIGN UP
After only slight hesitation, you bit your lip, pulled out your phone, and began taking pictures of the different options. There were only a few fall sports, and volleyball was only for girls, so you stopped taking pictures when you realized there was honestly only one option that really fitted Jungkook. You decided to tell him about it when you got to his house.
You gripped onto your school bag a little tighter at the prospect of seeing your friend who had been sitting at home the past two days. You loved that the two of you still hung out after school hours because... well... it was honestly a bit of an embarrassing reason. You couldn't help but notice the way the other girls fawned over Jungkook constantly, and it wasn't that you were jealous, but it did make you happy when you realized that the girls could look at him all they wanted at school but would never be as close to him as you. None of them walked home with him or laughed over inside jokes before spending time together. None of them had been in his house or his room and he had never been in their houses or their rooms.
It wasn't that Jungkook was yours or anything, or to phrase it better, it wasn't like you owned him; but you still couldn't help but love that in a way, the two of you would always share a connection that so far he hadn't had with anyone else. You smugly smiled at this as you finally neared his door and knocked before it was immediately flung open.
Jungkook had been waiting for you by the door; biting his nails in nervousness as the end of school hours approached and the time for your arrival came closer. When he heard the beginning of your knock, he immediately flung open the door to see your smiling face.
"Hi Koo-"
He grabbed you and pulled you into his house quickly before shutting the door and pushing you towards the stairs. You became surprised by his abrupt actions as he pushed you to his room.
"Hey, what's wrong?" You questioned when the two of you were alone in his sleeping quarters. He said nothing and only peered at you in worry. "Jungkook?"
He grabbed your arm and pulled up your sleeve; inspecting it thoroughly before moving onto your other arm and then quickly glancing at your legs for a moment. He then intently peered at your face before taking hold of the sides of your head and tilting it slightly so he could further inspect your neck.
"Kookie I'm fine," You spoke with a light laugh; blushing slightly and pushing his hands away. "You on the other hand are all everyone's talking about. You've become pretty famous for kicking Vince."
Jungkook breathed out in relief that you hadn't been harmed but cocked his head in confusion as to why. With him gone it would have been the perfect time for someone to hurt you in some way, but you looked fine. Better than ever.
