"Jungkook, I'm thinking your boots might be a problem," You noted, peering down at one of the two giant suitcases you were trying to fit all of Jungkook's belongings into. It was like a jigsaw puzzle that had too many pieces.
Jungkook shrugged and continued to fold all his plain colored shirts.
"It all fit last year."
"Who packed?!" You questioned in astonishment, trying a different angle to see if the boots would fit in a new position.
Jungkook thought for a moment before smiling.
"Ah! Jin hyung."
You scoffed.
"You're like their baby or something. It's a miracle you know how to do anything on your own."
Jungkook grinned and piled all the folded shirts in his arms, carrying the bundles to the other empty suitcase and simply throwing them in to your horror.
"AH, KOOKIE, NO!" You exclaimed, rushing over and attempting to fix the mess by instead placing all the shirts in an organized fashion so there was more room for other clothes. "What, are you planning on leaving half your clothes here? If you do it like that there won't be any room."
Jungkook rolled his eyes and pouted.
"I'm tired of packing. Let's go have fun! Pool!" He beamed and attempted to tug his swimsuit from the bottom of the other suitcase, messing up what you had already packed. You winced before sighing and shaking your head while a smile graced your lips.
"Jungkook we've only been packing for 20 minutes." You informed him, taking the swimsuit from his hands and refolding it. It reminded you of when you went to the pool with each other for the first time and the times you went with Sam and Emily throughout the few weeks after school had ended. "Besides, we can't go to the pool. We don't have enough time. We slacked off on packing and now you have to be at the airport in..." You checked your phone's clock, "About four hours. Also you know your foster parents are cooking that big meal for your going away party. We can't just disappear."
Jungkook sighed and watched you go back to trying to shove his boots into the already full suitcase. He was surprised by how nonchalant you were acting towards him leaving. The time you had been so upset by the news seemed like a distant memory and you seemed to be handling his retreat better than he was.
It worried him. Yes he was worried you were suppressing feelings and hiding them from him, but almost more worry came from the fact that he was afraid. Afraid that maybe you would be so fine without him that you didn't even care that much that he was leaving. He knew how stupid this sounded but you really had been acting as if his departure was just an any other day thing. He didn't want you to act sad but... he needed to know it wasn't just him that would miss you. That he wasn't the only one that would feel like a piece of him would be missing.
You used to hang out everyday, but this physical connection would soon disappear with a distance of thousands of miles between the two of you. Your connection would be from behind computer screens.
"Jungkook?" You questioned, snapping him out of his thoughts, "Are you going to keep sabotaging my packing job or are you going to help?"
He smiled sheepishly and cleared his throat before going to pack his carry on bag. He would use the storage to pack things to keep him occupied on the plane. With a sigh, he closed the lid to his laptop and slid it and it's charger into the bag. It was also filled with all the snacks you and Sam had gifted to him and his phone, pillow, camera, notebook, pencil, chargers, and headphones.
"You have the snacks we got you, right?" You asked from your position on the floor. "And all your chargers?"
Jungkook rolled his eyes.
