As summer faded into fall, Scott knew it was finally time for him to take on some new adventures. The library wasn't as enjoyable as he's once found it and Andy always made sure to ask how his boyfriend was doing when they worked together. It was uncomfortable and he didn't feel like dealing with it anymore.

He went into work one day with a handwritten letter that explained his distaste for his current job. It specifically detailed the way his coworkers treated him, but Scott couldn't bring himself to name the main culprit, so Andy would still be around to torture the other employees.

After he walked out of the library for the last time as an employee, Scott felt exhilarated. He was ready to take on a new chapter of his life.

Scott drove down the street to the little bakery he'd fallen in love with and walked in to find the man he'd also fallen for.

Mitch was standing with his back to the door and called out a cheery greeting when he heard the bell above the door chime. "Let me know if you need any help!" He added and Scott stifled his amused chuckle.

Before Mitch had the chance to turn around and realize who it was, Scott rushed up behind him, wrapping his arms around Mitch's stomach.

The loud squeal Mitch let out was so worth the smack on the arm he got after. "What the-!" Mitch started to say, but Scott burst into laughter before he could finish. "Scott!" Mitch exclaimed.

"It's me," Scott replied cheekily, nuzzling his nose against Mitch's ear, before pressing a quick kiss there. "I came to surprise you!"

"You almost gave me a heart attack," the smaller man grumbled, but the smile on his face said it all. "Shouldn't you be at work?"

Scott shook his head. "Nah," he said. "Now let's go for lunch! We haven't done that in a while!"

Mitch turned around in Scott's arms and rolled his eyes. "We literally did that yesterday, but okay. I'll just go tell the boss I'm taking my break now."

"Okay! Meet me in the car!" Scott grinned, giving Mitch a quick kiss on the cheek before he turned and left, hearing Mitch laugh before the door closed.

Cute!! This chapter was going to be longer, but y'all didn't want it the book to end so quick, so I broke this chapter into two, and now there's a few more before the end. You're welcome :)

Also, this is two months and a week since the last chapter.

Do you think it was a good idea for Scott to quit his job? What will happen next??
