It was cold in LA and Scott was walking down the sidewalk alone as the wind whipped around him. He wasn't a huge fan of this weather, but it was to be expected now that it was December.

He'd just dropped Mitch off at work, and he had a few hours to kill before his boyfriend would get off, so he decided it was the perfect time to go Christmas shopping.

Scott was glad his sweater was big enough to give him sweaterpaws because Mitch had been right when he said to bring a coat, even though Scott had stubbornly declined.

It was cold.

His Californian skin wasn't used to this, and he almost wished it would be a green Christmas.

But not really. It wouldn't be Christmastime if it was green.

Finally he reached his stop and pushed open the door to the mall and stepped inside, sighing in relief as he walked into the heat. He poked his hands out of his sweaterpaws and got out the list he'd made a few nights ago.

It took him almost an hour to write it because he wanted to make sure everything was perfect... and because he couldn't sit still long enough to actually write it all at once.

He'd only crossed off the first thing on his list - a game for his nephew - when he looked up from his phone and found himself standing in front of a jewellery shop.

A new idea formed in his head, and he was quick to shove the list back in his pocket and go into the store.

"Hi, is there anything I can help you with?" a lady asked when she noticed Scott looking around.

He shrugged, then nodded sheepishly. "Do you have any promise rings?"
