Maid Bride

Prologue

She was always the maid's daughter. He hates her for no reason. She is innocent.

He knows very well what is her weakness. He wants to break her into pieces.

"Joshua! You have to marry Athena and no more excuses" Robert told his son.

"Dad, why should I marry a dirty maid? No way!!! I will marry whoever I want" Joshua shouted

"Joshua, No! I'm not asking you. I'm ordering you and you are going to marry her no matter what" Robert told strictly

"Why should I marry her? What poison did she give you? Ohh wait ...... you are feeling sympathy for that bitch? Well yes, you are! I hate that shithead. I thought we could kick her out of this mansion soon, but what? Had my dad already arranged for her to marry me? Why dad? You hate me that much?" Joshua told sarcastically as he walked towards his chair.

"Son, Right now you don't know the seriousness of the situation. I had promised her late mother that I will get her married to someone who will take care of her" Robert said as he had a sip of his coffee

"Me? Do you think I'll take care of her? I hate her Dad! I fucking hate her" This time Joshua couldn't control his anger. He stomps on the floor harshly and stood up from his chair.

Agatha didn't open her mouth to have some words exchanged with her husband. Even she didn't like her only son marrying a maid's daughter, who is practically working as their maid. Little did she know that it won't be nice keeping her mouth shut.

"Robert, Why are you trying to burden Joshua with that filthy girl. Why can't you just marry her off to someone who keeps up with her standard" Agatha told.

"I don't care whether you or Joshua would like it or not, but still he is going to marry her!" With that, Robert stormed out of his son's office.

The atmosphere around the mother and son was not good. Both were against the idea of Joshua marrying Athena.
Agatha couldn't think of showing off Athena to her rich circle of friends. Her thoughts were equipped by the salty realization of her rich friends mocking her for allowing her only son to marry their dead maid's daughter. Agatha never liked how close her husband was to Athena and her mother. She always had a thought run in her mind that Athena was her husband's illegitimate daughter but now she got the clear answer.  The answer was really simple Robert really liked Athena because she had put some spell on her husband. Agatha couldn't even believe that her husband is forcing their son to marry Athena.
She will make sure that Athena gets the reward for her interference in her son's life. A bittersweet reward.

Joshua, on the other hand, was shocked. His father had forced him to marry that filthy illiterate girl. The hell she didn't even qualify for his qualifications of his perfect bride.  He had always seen her as someone who is beneath him and now he can't imagine her to be his better half. Athena's mother Martha was their maid for years. Martha was working for them since his parents got married and if he could remember correctly Athena was born when he was somewhat six or seven years. Her father was someone with whom Martha had a relationship for a while and that poor guy had met with an accident and died on the spot.
He started hating Athena right from the moment when she was born. His father never failed to treat her as a princess and many times she forgot her place in his house. He never failed to show his hatred against Athena and he knows that she understands what he is doing against her. She doesn't even open her mouth against him because she is scared of him. At times he thinks she is a mute girl because she is always silent. He wants Athena to regret all her actions which made his father forced him to marry her. He is ready to break her into fragments.

While Robert was going to his bedroom he noticed
Athena sweeping the floor. She was sweeping the floor with so much effort as if her life is depended on it. Robert had already made up his mind that he is going to arrange Athena's marriage with Joshua. He can't wait for her to be his daughter in law. She will surely be a blessing for Joshua. He was so sure that one day Joshua is going to love her.

When she noticed Robert's presence, her eyes twinkled and her face plastered a beautiful smile.

"Uncle Rob, Why are you looking at me?" Athena asked him.

"Nothing Ena! If you are tired ask someone to do the work, indeed I have said to you many times don't do the work as a maid!" He scolds her

"Uncle, this is what I am! I'm a maid and I should do my work" she said with a sad smile.

"Ena..... Please, Ena! I promised Martha that I will find a safe hand for you and I'm happy that I had already found one" Robert told

"Uncle, what are you saying? I don't understand" Athena asked him confused.

"Well, you are going to marry someone!" He told her

The sweeping brush hit the floor as she was shocked by the news

"Whom?" She asked him breaking the silence

"Joshua," he told her

Fear crossed over her face, her face was pale and her heart was beating so fast and loud.
She was sure she wouldn't survive if she gets married to Joshua. He will break her, he will treat her more harshly than how he treats her now. But she couldn't say no to papa.

And she was forced to accept...
