Athena's POV
I walked to my room with a broken heart. His words were not so easy to forget. If I had a way to escape then for sure I will be running away with my life.
Only if...
When I entered the room I saw Lily sleeping soundly. I removed my slippers to one corner and walk to the bedside table where the jug had been kept. I took the jug and drank the water in it without bothering to pour it into a glass. I was thirsty after having a little not so nice conversation with Joshua.
I kept the jug back to its place. Then I went to the toilet to get the first aid kit from the shelves to treat myself from the wound on my leg. I took the first aid kit and walked to the bed. I sat and took out the ointment and put it on my fresh wound. I let out a painful moan due to the contact of ointment on my wound. After putting the band-aid, I kept the first aid kit back to its place.
When I turned my head I saw my bed at the corner next to the window waiting for me to get in. I got into my bed to greet later by the warmth of deep slumber.
A short run away from the salted reality.Next day
I was arranging the books in the library when Uncle Robert called me to the dining room.
When I reached there I saw everyone sitting quietly and eating. Two pairs of eyes were glaring at my direction and if their eyes were guns then I would be dead by now. By the looks, I could say that Joshua and Agatha weren't happy to see me there."Ena, today you will go along with Agatha to get your wedding dress," Uncle Robert said by giving me a warm smile
Tagging along Agatha is not going to be easy. She is going to throw nasty remarks at me.
"Okay" that's all I could give as a reply
Thinking about the enthusiastic shopping with Agatha is already making my nervousness exciting. I don't even know how I am going to survive this.
" Ena, most importantly you are going to marry Joshua within two days. Be happy," Uncle Roberts said as he stood up from his chair and walked towards me. He tapped my shoulders and smiled brightly.
Uncle Robert's words were equal to throwing a bucket of cold water all over me.
Getting married within two days
I looked at Joshua who had a blank expression and he was looking away from my eyes. Not to mention Agatha who was openly glaring at me.
I forced out a fake smile to Uncle Robert.
"Ena, get ready for your wedding shopping!" Uncle Robert said before walking out of the dining room.
I stood there looking down at the porcelain marbled floor. Agatha and Joshua were whispering something.
Probably something about me."Joshua, my son, I am sorry that you are the victim of your father's fraud game with this maid," Agatha said bitterly with the motive of pulling the veins to my heart.
"I hope I could save you from this horrible game of marriage. But I am so sorry that I have failed miserably. Dear, look at that slut standing in the filthy uniform of the maid with the power of digging gold from others soil could never win against you. She is weak just like her lowlife of a mother. Break her son, Break her." Agatha told to Joshua as a matter of indirectly hurting me.
Tears were making their way from my eyes. What she said was so hurtful. The lump formed in my throat was aching and my fingers were shivering. I still looked at the floor with the intention of avoiding their discriminating glances at me.
Joshua chuckled loudly. I could hear the chair making the squeaking noise as he got up from the chair.
"Mom, Don't pity me. I can promise you that I will break this bitch into thousand fragments before you could imagine. I will make sure that she will be completely lost before she could make it into her end. I am not letting her go without paying the price for destructing my life. If I failed at this, then you can change my name from Joshua Walker to anything you want." Joshua said confidently with a great spirit of making my life a living hell.
I want to walk away from them. They always take my feelings from me, then crumble it and go.
Suddenly I felt a cold liquid splattered on my face. I was shocked at what happened to me. I was drenched in orange juice. The sweetness of orange can be felt on my lips as it is making its way from my head.
Agatha and Joshua were laughing at my state of miserableness. Agatha walked towards me with an empty jug in her hand. Her smirk was scaring the life out of my body.
"Well, who is this? Athena fucking bitch you look amazing and get ready within 30 minutes for your fucking wedding shopping." Agatha said as she drops the glass jug on the floor and walked past me without even feeling a bit of guilt.
All I could do was cry. Through my blurred vision, I saw Joshua standing in front of me. His jawline was hard and his eyes with the color of the ocean were penetrating its gaze to my messy physique.
He muttered bitch which was loud enough to get my attention. When I looked at him, I understood that he was enjoying my helplessness and moreover my weakness.
Suddenly I felt an intense pain from my feet. When I looked down I saw Joshua stepping on my feet so harshly which even made my worn out slippers to get separated from my legs.
I let out a painful scream when I couldn't control the pain which is so intense as if my bones were breaking."Ah your screams are music to my ears and little Athena, I am going to enjoy this long journey of ours with more symphonies of your music." He said before pushing my orange juice drenched body to the pale porcelain marbled floor.
