"So are you going to tell me, or would you like me to start guessing?" Shin jests.

You glance up from your cup of tea, having been distracted by it for the past few minutes. You are both seated beneath a large tree, which as Shin had explained to you was where he and both Kibito and Elder Kai spend much of their time. Sitting there at the table with a cup of hot tea and the warm breeze blowing through your hair is just so relaxing. You had almost forgotten that there was in fact a purpose to your visit.

"Oh right, sorry," you grin apologetically, "Its just so serene here... I got a little too relaxed."

Shin nods and chuckles softly, taking a sip of his own tea.

"Alright, well... since there really isn't any appropriate way to explain this, I'm going to just tell it like it is," you say, before taking a deep breath and continuing, "For the last eight years, I have been in a romantic relationship with a deity."

Shin coughs as he chokes on his tea. You move to help him, but he gently waves you off as he gasps for air. You can almost see the thousands of questions flashing across his face as he struggles to regain his composure.

"I-its not Beerus, is it?" he wheezes, holding a hand to his chest as he tries to keep himself from coughing any more.

You wrinkle your nose in disgust, "Heavens, no!"

Shin emits a sigh of relief. Whether it is relief due to being able to breathe again, or due to your confirmation that Beerus is not your lover, you are not certain.

"So, may I ask who it is then?" he asks as he slides his tea cup across the table a short distance, as is afraid the liquid within may attempt to attack his lungs again.

You fiddle with the handle of your cup, reluctant to answer his question, though you know that it is necessary.

"Its Whis," you admit, averting your eyes as if ashamed of yourself. You expect to hear some kind of shocked outburst or the beginnings of a lecture from the Supreme Kai seated across from you, but it never comes. Instead he chuckles. You turn your gaze back toward him, staring in confusion.

"Well that explains a lot, actually," Shin says with a smirk as he leans back in his chair, "I had been curious about his constant travels to and from Earth... and why he always had such a strange little smile on his face whenever your name was mentioned in conversation. I should have been able to work that much out!"

"You're... not angry?"

"What reason would I have to be angry?" he frowns, "Everyone falls in love at some point in their life. I can understand that, so its not me that you need to keep that from. I presume that your intention in not coming forward with this sooner was to keep this from reaching the Grand Minister's ears?"

You nod.

"I see," Shin dares to chance a sip of his tea once more, "then why tell me now?" He tilts his head quizzically.

"He found out," you reply gloomily, "and has forbidden us from being together. While that much was expected, Whis and I just..." you trail off and sigh, "we can't bear the thought of being apart."

Shin gives a few slow nods, "So, am I correct in assuming that you are looking for advice on how to get around the Grand Minister's ruling?"

You shrug, "I was hoping maybe you know something or have some books that might expose a loophole in regards to deities and their laws on... relationships. Bulma seems to be under the impression that you must have a library or something with books that might contain some useful information."
