CHAPTER 12
I could hear voices from a distance, and couldn't quite place where I was. Anna's voice sounded worried even as she dabbed a cold piece of clothe on my forehead. There was another voice too, an unfamiliar male voice. I opened my eyes slowly trying to make out his face, but it was still too hazy.
"Kira!" Anna cried out, sounding somewhat relieved. She helped me sit up and gave me a glass of water.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling? Are you sick? Why did you faint? Don't just look at me, answer me! " If I had any doubt before of her worry, it was now completely gone.
"I... I think I am okay.. what happened?"
"Then what made you faint? "
" I fainted? Well... I have no idead why."
"Now that she's awake, I'll take my leave. Anna don't forget my request, I'll even pay double for the trouble." Voice. Rich, deep, husky, sultry voice. It grabbed my attention immensely even as I strained to take a peek at his face, but I was too slow as I only caught a glimpse of his retreating back.
"Consider it done! "Anna was beaming as she shouted her reply to him. "Rest up Kira, you have a big day ahead of you tomorrow." She sounded excited, and I really didn't care why, I was only relieved to see her happy. That could only mean she wasn't going to throw me out. That night I slept like a baby, after Anna had served my dinner in bed.
I turned slowly in the bed as I felt the sun rays on my face and bumped into someone else who was sleeping beside me. I moved away quickly afraid of waking Anna up, well I assumed it was her.
"So you finally wake up." Voice. I smiled to myself thinking how beautiful that voice sounded, even in my dream. My smile was wiped off my face by an arm holding to my waist. I rolled over to find the strange man from the previous day lying right beside me.
"So shall we? "
Water filled my bowels and I suddenly had an urge to use the toilet. I looked around the room trying to trace Anna, but she was nowhere to be found
