Plagiarism is something I've seen on Wattpad applyfics...sadly.

When I see that, I'm like why would you even do that thinking no one will find out?

There is a difference between copying a whole idea/format and asking the original author if it is okay to use their idea.

However, when an author does say it is okay to use their idea, I'm a 100% percent sure it's not like take everything they did as yours.

(No one has personally asked me to borrow an idea from me yet. I can't really relate to this part. Or my brain is dead and I don't remember...)

Working on applyfics are very time consuming. The fact that authors take their time to make their story and format how they want to, and you just copy a whole idea without using your brain too is kinda...no.

If someone does take the idea, they don't even credit the writer. (Once someone finds out, a literal war of fighting back and forth happens. So, make this easy on yourself and give credit and ask permission. If the author says no, it's a no.)

So, it's better to use your own brain and come up with a creative idea.

There are some applyfics based on movies like the Hunger Games, and dramas. Now that's totally fine as inspiration and not technically copying someone else.

As you can see, if someone does a Hunger Game idea, they will obviously have districts or something.

How to easily spot Plagarism: If Writer 2's writing is very very similar to Writer 1's writing.
