As we get back into the car, my phone starts buzzing. It's my best friend's name on the screen. "Jenna" flashes across the screen. It's important because she never calls. "Hello?" I say into the phone. "Hey Dani. Can you pick me up?"
I look at Nick. "Can we swing by and get Jenna?" He nods and looks over at me. "Yeah, J. Where are you?" I'm guessing by her voice, she's terrified. Her voice is shaky, unsure, scared. "Um, I'm at my house. I'm walking right now. So pick me up at the Dollar General down the block..." She trails off.
"Okay, Jenna. We'll be there. And quick, I promise." I reassure.
