Chapter 1

Once there was a beautiful princess named Adiline. She lived in the grand castle in the land of Millernia. The castle belonged to her parents, Queen Melissa Alazne and King Anders Ryan III. Princess Adiline's mother was beyond comparison to even the finest rose, while Adiline was just as divine and delicate. Her father was a strong and wise man fit to rule an untainted utopia such as Millernia.

Adiline has many siblings, all perplex yet exquisite young girls.

She spent most of her days out on her balcony, which had the best view of her family's beloved land. The people there were just as kind as its rulers. But, it had no prince to accompany the beautiful and quiet princess. Millernia only hoped that Adiline would eventually fall in love.

You see, Adiline has never been outside the city walls. She has no idea what's on the other side.

Her parents never tell her anything, saying each time she asks that she is "too young." Adiline is sixteen, almost seventeen years old. When will she be "old enough"?

Adiline was doing as she normally did on a summer's day, reading in her vast library. She was well into one of her most favored novels when her mother and father walked in. She didn't notice them, lost in her own world.

"Daughter, please put your book down, we need to tell you something," said Melissa.

"Yes honey, we need to inform you of some of the things you must attend," agreed Anders.

Adiline set her book on the end table, mentally rolling her eyes and wondering what her parents had scheduled for her now. She never looked forward to public events unless her best friend, Rosette, was with her. But if you were to ask any of her 5 sisters, they would scream in joy at the thought.

"We have set a date for the Festival of Thanks. You will be meeting all the wonderful singles of Millernia," explained the Queen.

Aggravated at how persistent her parents were in finding a prince, Adiline wasn't going down without a fight.

"Mother, Father, How many times must I tell you that I will fall in love at my own pace when I am good and ready?"

"We know that you don't like to be pushed with these things, but could you at least try to put in an effort?," asked her father.

"And we don't expect you to find the one in a single night," said Melissa.

Adiline still had some things to say about her thoughts on the matter, even after her parents left the room. "Ughh! I don't need their help in finding my prince! I will do so on my own time and I don't care if he's a peasant or a rich man."

One of Adiline's younger sisters had been in the library the whole time without anyone knowing. "I agree with you Ali," she peeked out from behind one of the bookcases. "If someone wants to find who they are destined to be with, then it should be done by them," Kristine paused, "And if they don't want to find them at the moment then they have the right not to."

"Thank you, Kris. I need someone on my side for once." And with that, the day went on.

As the summer progressed, the Royal Family was more nervous about Adiline's meetings every day.

She had just woken up on the day of the "Princess' Speed-Dating Extravaganza." She was eating her usual breakfast of egg whites and belgium waffles. Kristine was the only sister still in the castle. All the other sisters had gone out to the markets to spend their new allowance money, told not to spend it all but doing it anyways.
