I stood at the railing surrounded by hundreds of men and women, all staring at the same thing. In the middle of the large courtroom was Eren chained to a board that was carted out by two men. I stared out blankly, showing no spark of emotion. I had known Eren since he was training to become a member of the Survey Corps...but I never expected this to be his outcome.

His emerald eyes bugged out of his head, looking all around the room at the many faces I'm sure he didn't recognize. He was surely confused and scared. His friend, Mikasa looked like she was ready to leap over the ledge to embrace him, but thankfully little Armin was there keeping a firm grip on her shoulder.

"Well, let's begin," Commander-in-chief Darius Zackly mumbled as he sat at his seat in the long table a few yards away from where Eren was held. He adjusted his glasses, looking over a stack of papers in his hand. "You are Eren Yeager, yes? As a soldier, you've pledged your life to serve the public, correct?"

I noticed the beads of sweat forming at his hairline before his shaky voice let out a, "Yes, sir."

"Regular law cannot apply in these exceptional circumstances. Therefore, this will be a military tribunal," Commander-in-chief spoke. "Ultimate authority has been entrusted to me...even over your life. Now, I will ask you only once: do you have any objections?"

I shut my eyes, "Choose wisely kid." I thought.

After a short silence, Eren spoke up again. "No, sir."

I nodded. So then maybe he wasn't our enemy. If he was out to destroy us, I don't think he would have agreed so willingly.

"I'm glad that you understand," Commander-in-chief nodded towards Eren. "Now, this unprecedented case has given rise to many conflicting, passionate arguments behind these walls. There are those who call you a demon that will lead us to destruction. And others consider you a savior who will bring hope to the human race."

Eren's life would be either put into the Military Police's hands or into our hands, the Survey Corps. Being a Captain of the Survey Corps made my opinion highly important to the matter. I had mentioned to the men early this day that Eren's power may be a blessing is disguise. His strength could help repair the damage that had been done to the wall, preventing more Titans to enter. He would also be of use simply helping distract the Titans, making it easier for the rest of us to destroy them one by one. Of course, this would only work if Eren could learn to control his Titan form which didn't seem IMPOSSIBLE at this point. Although, he did almost try to kill Mikasa in his Titan form... Commander Erwin Smith seemed to agree with me whilst Captain Levi was still skeptical...but when was he not?

"I am Chief Nile Dok of the Military Police Brigade," the Military Police were up first in convincing Commander-in-chief what his decision should be regarding Eren. I glanced at him with the same blank expression I had on my face this entire time, but this time I furrowed my brows. I hated the Military Police, but I hated Nile Dok the most. Disgusting pig.

"We believe that Eren's body should be thoroughly examined. After which it should be disposed of without delay."

Gasps could be heard throughout the room, but I stayed stoic. What else could I expect from some Military Police scum? I was stood in between both Erwin and Levi, close enough to feel Levi lean against his hip, an irritated sigh erupting from his nose. I had to stifle a grin as I pointed my hazel eyes down to my feet. As big of a prick as Levi was, I couldn't help finding his true lack of compassion amusing at times.

"Therefore," he concluded the speech that I was only half listening to. "After we extract as much information as we can from him, we will turn him into a martyr for the human race."
