the snow that had fallen was covered in footprints from the laughing students that ran on the paths, noses pink and eyelashes coated in star-like snowflakes. jeongin walked beside hyunjin, felix and changbin as the tallest of them typed at his phone in a furious matter; muttering curses under his breath.

jeongin twitched his nose, looking forward to see two figures coming in their direction - woojin and nami. the boy held his breath in anticipation, calming his racing heartbeat and fixing his windswept hair; seeing the four boys, the siblings came to halt in front of them and gave them sweet smiles.

"hello woojin, nami - uhm," jeongin coughed, "i think chan and seungmin were looking for you hyung, they mentioned something about... uh-"

"maths homework. seungmin had asked chan for help on the homework and now chan's asking for help from you," changbin interrupted, "we were just heading to lunch, nami, would you like to join us?"

"that would be nice," the girl gave the four an inviting eye smile, "i'll see you later, oppa!"

as woojin's retreating figure walked further down the path, hyunjin walked ahead, in the opposing direction and towards the lunch hall. a sudden gust of wind caused jeongin to wrap his arms around his waist, hugging himself for warmth; subtle snowflakes had begun to fall from the clouded skies once more, tickling his nose and getting caught within his raven hair.

meeting eyes with the youngest boy, nami couldn't stop the blush that grew across her face and the smile that appeared on her lips; but what the two hadn't realised was that changbin and felix had already walked off, in pursuit of hyunjin - leaving the two alone.

"i guess we should, uh, go get a good place in the queue for lunch?" jeongin question, as he began walking along the path once more.

feeling a soft grip upon his right wrist brought him to a stop once more, "can i tell you something jeongin?"

"of course, what is it?" the boy asked, concern filling his eyes.

"well, i've been getting these... notes since october half term from a somewhat anonymous writer? uhm, since you arrive quite early at school, i was just wandering if you had seen anyone putting anything on my desk?"

jeongin paled at the words the girl spoke, his brain going haywire and hands shaking behind his back, "a-ah, i don't think i've seen anyone around your desk; although, if i'm being completely honest, i usually just sleep for a bit when i get in - i haven't slept very well recently."

nami sighed, scratching the side of her head awkwardly, "would you be able to keep an eye out for anyone? i understand if you don't want to, it's just that i can't really ask any of the other boys because, obviously, they're not in our class."

"i'll be sure to look," the boy smiled, hating the feeling of lying to her, "we should probably go for lunch now, huh?"

nami chuckled softly, linking her arm with the boy and setting off again down the snow-covered path, "let's see if we get some hot chocolate whilst we're at it."
