Gio and I sat at in the VIP section of the private venue Joel had rented out for David's birthday. David stood a few feet away with Wayno, Chucky and T as they all laughed and joked like they were teenage boys again. I paid close attention to Chucky , he had been doing good dealing with tonight's crowd and for the most part he relaxed , only looking over his shoulder every now and then . Therapy helped but since he got home he really hasn't been the same.
The venue was packed, mostly with celebrities but a few were some people he knew from back in the day. Joel sat next to me babysitting her cup obsessively texting Mrs. Brewster to check on Johan. She never spent more than a few hours away from him , give or take the two times he stayed with me overnight.
"Can you give it a rest woman" I laughed as Gio handed me another shot.
"I hate being away from him, it feels so strange" she frowned.
"He's almost a year old now girly, he can go a night without Mommy" I assured her.
"If it makes you feel any better I get the same anxiety when leaving my son alone" Gio chimed in, "Parental anxiety, it never goes away"
