Chapter IV: Trapped

The knots in Taehee's stomach turned and twisted with dread as she watched Souyeon's blood get drained from her face. She knew something was terribly wrong. She didn't need her to talk to know what was about to happen. The shift in the atmosphere was sensed not only by her but was also detectable through the alarmed looks everyone gave as they waited for Souyeon to spill the news as everyone visibly held their breath. The girl's eyes were shot open; her entire figure was shaking; hands barely holding into the door frame as she let her shivering voice come out.

"They're here" She whispered, sending everyone in the room to their feet in a panicked state.

There goes the confirmation Taehee needed to validate the sickening feeling that's been dancing in the depth of her stomach the entire time.

Everyone rose to their feet as alarms of danger lurking close by went off in their heads; the hostile feeling surrounding the place invaded their senses as adrenaline suddenly shot into their veins. The tension in the room was so thick it could crush bones.

"What do you mean they're here?" Jimin shouted, the muscles in his body visibly tensing up.

"What do you think I mean Jimin?" Souyeon shouted back "I saw a black shadow pass by the window where I was standing; I thought I was imagining things but then I heard noises outside the house. I decided to peek out from behind the curtain and I saw two fucking black wagons parked outside."

"Keep it quite you two!" Taehee voiced out trying to keep her voice as muffled as possible. "We have to move! Quick! We have to either hide or get prepared to attack!"

"Wait what?" Souyeon muttered "What do you mean attack?"

"Taehee, Girl, I think action series sure corrupted your mind!" Jimin added "I played along with you last time but not now, I value my life enough to get the hell out of here in one piece."

"Oh you sure will get out in one piece with an extra bullet to the head if we don't act quickly and get armed." Taehee barked back "Look around you, where do you think we can run to? We're literally in the middle of nowhere surrounded by some hit-men for all we know. If we're gonna die we die fighting. At least I will! I'm not going down without a fight if you wanna go out and get a bullet to the head then go on I won't stop you."

A moment of silence engulfed the place as everyone tried to analyze their best chances to survive when a deafening bang to the entrance door got them all to jolt out of their thoughts.

"To the kitchen, everyone! We might find some stuff to use as weapons there!" Souyeon ordered as she made her way to a chair Jimin was once sitting on and secured the room's door shut with it. "Jimin, would you help your patient up on his feet we got little to no time."

With that, the young doctor made his way to where his patient was still laying; having trouble keeping up with what was unfolding before him. He quickly pulled the blood bag down as he helped the guy up. "I'll need you to hold on to this we definitely don't want you to lose any blood and go into shock again."

With that, the group hurried towards the kitchen door, each one grabbed whatever they could find to use in self defense if the need arose.

Crashing of wood could be clearly heard throughout the entire house; what seemed like continues kicks of multiple people on the wooden door filled the space making everyone's heart sink in fear with every strike. Souyeon felt her grip tighten around the old frying pan she made up her mind to use as the weapon that might decide whether she gets to live or die... she admits to herself it was probably not her best idea to settle for an old ass pan to use in the face of guns and bullets... yeah it sure wasn't her best idea to go along with Taehee's plan in the first place but what other options did she truly have? It was basically a matter of dying pathetically or dying with dignity. She didn't really believe a way out was a plausible possibility in their state without the occurrence of a heavenly miracle.
