Thump.
"Cake?"
"Human food makes me want to be human"
Thump.
"Drawing?"
"I can barely do stick figures."
"Puppies?"
Thump.
"Animals creep me out, they don't talk."
"Long walks on the beach?"
"I hate the sun and sand."
"Wow, you weren't kidding when you said nothing makes you happy." He sighed. I giggled and threw a tennis ball at the wall once again. This is what we have been doing all day, he asks if something makes me happy, I say why it doesn't, and I throw the ball at the wall, listening to the thump it makes.
"I guess, I have said it before, I will say it again; why be happy when you have a family to protect?" I shrugged. Thump.
"Protect from what? They never leave the house, only you do from what I've seen. And the war has been getting less war-ish and more 'I don't like vampires but I don't want to do anything about it'-ish." He explained. I mean he had a point, but with the constant threat of humans hurting those I love most in this world, there was no room in my mind to be happy about anything. Thump.
"I see your point, but there is that constant threat of human retaliation over our heads, and there is no space for happened in my head right now." Thump. I got up and placed the tennis ball on my pillow and went to go check on Harry and Ashton in the Power Training Room. I had this room made just so that Harry could practice his newfound ability and not ruin all my stuff. After seeing that they were perfectly fine, I checked on the rest of the family, and made my way back up to my room. Luke was still sitting at the end of my bed, with a face that said 'I'm thinking, but I'm about to have a eureka moment.'
"I think I know something." He smirked. I sat on my bed again, grabbing the tennis ball off my pillow. Thump. I raised my eyebrow to say 'continue' "Snowball fights." He confidently said.
"Never had one, but they seem dumb, I mean all you do is chuck solid water at someone." I said, causing his mouth to open in shock. "What?" I asked.
"How is it that I made it my life mission to make you happy, yet can't find one single thing you don't hate. You're a very negative person Rosemary Winters.' He chuckled at the end. I smiled and shrugged. I got up and grabbed my notebook off my desk. I sat back down and opened to a new page. I began to write a poem about living as an immortal, and found myself falling into my own little world as I put the words on the page. I felt Luke's eyes on me the whole time, but was too invested in my writing to care. After I finished the work of art, in my opinion anyway, I looked up to Luke.
"I think I have an idea." He smiled. I tilted my head to the side, a bit confused. "But I can't tell you." He smiled.
"And why is that?" I quizzed.
"Because you will never go along with it if I tell you, so I'm just going to do it without telling you." He smiled as he grabbed my notebook and walked out of my room. I sped down the stairs to beat him there. He gasped at my sudden appearance but quickly recovered. "Just trust me, alright. I'll protect your precious notebook." He smiled down at me.
"Alright, fine, but if you lose, ruin, or show anybody my notebook, I will not hesitate to end you." I smiled back.
