The Big Day

Today is the day! The day Kotori has been dreaming and fantasizing about her whole time of being in high school! Though, with hope there has doubts. She was very nervous, today was the  day she would build up the confidence to confess to Umi Sonoda, her best friend sense childhood. 

Kotori was sitting alone at lunch, seeming spaced out the whole time, wondering how she can provide a romantic mood for higher chances of accepting her confession. Yet, one thing remains in her mind. "How will she do it?" This question has been ringing in Kotori's head all day. She just couldn't think of a way! By the time she figured out an idea that's completely obvious to everyone who confesses to their crush, just be herself.

 She'd repeat that to herself, over and over and over again. But, she just can't get her mind of the fact that Umi has the chance to decline her confession, leaving her without a way to approach Umi anymore, leaving her to be emotionless and depressed for the rest of her life! 

She needed advice, from her right-hand man. Her friend that she had known way longer then Umi. Who is this mystical person who can reveal all the answers!? Oh, it's just Honoka. No wonder. Honoka Kosaka is Kotoris first friend, she had known Honoka way longer then Umi. When Kotori approached Honoka, and told her about the situation she's in. Honoka grins like a cheeky girl she is, and pats Kotori on the back, "Just be the girl you've always been. Cmon! You can do it. I'm sure Umi-chan loves you.~" She'd state rather sloppily, to the point where it made Kotori shiver. Kotori would then nod, hugging Honoka, "Thanks for the advice, I'll use it well." 

 Kotori new that she had a lot of thinking to do, but so little time. Quietly pacing around the empty classroom because it's still lunch hours, when the bell rang to head back to class, she did just that. Doing that motion where her chin is in her palm, seeming quite frustrated. Umi looks to the left of Honoka, straight at Kotori. As the birds face lights up instantly at the presence of the gaze. 

 "Kotori," Umi announces towards the bird who was spacing out. "Are you alright, is there something wrong? Perhaps you need to hit the infirmary?" Kotori jolts up, shaking her head rapidly, "No, no! There's nothing to worry about, Umi-chan. It's just... Hot here." She manages to make up an excuse, though.. "Kotori, it's winter." Umi provides a gaze at Kotori that broke right through the excuse. 

 "Umi-chan.. Fine." Kotori balls her fists, as the fights back the embarrassment, holding back her tears. "Meet me after school, you know at the back of the school in the middle of the circle track. I have a confession." The bird blunts out, as before they know it the bell rings. Umi had to hit a few places to provide archery supplies for the club. Then, hitting the circle in the track. 

 Kotori gulps, as this is the moment. The moment she had been waiting for. When Umi arrives, without a chance to speak, "Umi-chan! I love you!" Clumsy Kotori blurts out, of course as a slight blush appears on Umi's face, tilting her head as she stutters slightly. "Love is.. A bit shameless.. Is it not..?" Umi sits next to Kotori, on the frozen-over grass. But there's not snow.

 Kotori's eyes tear up, as she believes that she had just been rejected by her love. Umi sees this and instantly starts to panic for the fact she didn't decline the confession. "Kotori! I was going to say, even though it's shameless I'll provide an exception for you. Just because I had always loved you myself." 

 Kotori's face would light up at this, as she hugs Umi-chan. Tightly at that. A good embrace.
