ERIN WILLIAMS
"It's your dance performance honey. Get up and practice." My mom shook me when I refused to wake up. I was always a sleepy head. I felt something very chilly inside my t-shirt. Though I loved mom for everything she ever did for me but I hated her in the mornings when she used to put ice cubes inside my tee to wake me up.
"Let me sleep mom." I pulled the blanket over myself shutting my sleepy structure from her eyes and put my hand inside my tee to grab the ice cube.
But then I heard a loud music being played in the background making me jump up on my bed.
Hell !
"Mom" I felt agitated. She pulled my arm and dragged me down to the floor. She looked so happy while dancing. Teaching me some new moves. She loved contemporary dance form but I wanted to learn more like robotics and hip hop. But whenever I danced with her it gave me peace. Like all my strain went away with a single move. She was my calmness. She was my entire world. She was my life.
"C'mon now go and take shower. I'll prepare you lasagna" Mom rushed out of my room and I ran to the bathroom. I sat in one corner in a dilemma to take shower or not. I turned the shower on but the water was too cold.
"Eri...you'll be disqualified if you don't come out soon." I heard mom's voice.
SHIT !
"Save me Jesus !" With this I stepped into the shower standing beneath the cold water. My body trembled and few goosebumps appeared on my skin. After a fiver minute shower. I wrapped a towel around my skinny self and ran downstairs to ravish lasagna.
"Mom! I'm here. My breakfast ?" I asked.
"Eri, take it from the kitchen." I heard her voice coming from the hall. I went to the kitchen but stopped midway when I heard two male voices from the hall. I was sure one was my dad but another one I never heard his voice.
Anyways ! Focus Eri...Focus on Lasagna
I filled my plate full and sat on the dining licking the delicious sauce which stuck on my finger. As I looked up I saw a man in his early forties staring at me with a sly smile on his face. I froze at my position as he came near me and rolled his fingers through my wet hair and then patted my cheek. His gaze lowered as I followed his eyeballs SHIT....I was in a towel. His hand made it's way to my neck as I felt little awkward when he did that. What was he trying to do ? I stared his arm as he kissed me in the air. I was caught off guard by his actions. It would be a lie if I said I was not scared.
Damn ! He is trying to be cosy with me.
"Wh...Who are you ?? How did you get in ?" I tried not to show him that I was intimidated by him.
"Relax honey..I'm your dad's friend..Thomas Stephan." He said staring at the tucked end of my towel.
"I'll call mom. Wait! She'll throw you out." I picked up my fork to scare him away but he laughed more and more.
"Okay..okay...I'm going now. But I will be back soon" He ruffled my hair and winked at me. Then he turned around and left. While walking away he said something like "I'll have my way with you soon."
Have his way with me ? Was he going to accompany me my way back from school ? Anyways I don't wanna divert my mind right now.
Who the bloody hell was this Thomas Stephan ? I can't expect dad to have good friends. He's such a bastard and so are his friends.
After five minutes I heard my mom's voice. "Eri...get ready in that red dress that your dad brought for you" She yelled from somewhere.
I sighed and ran back to my room getting dressed in the uncomfortable yet beautifully perfect red dress. I couldn't believe that I owned something beautiful like this. And to be more precise I couldn't believe my dad who always spent his money on drinking spent some dollars on me too. But deep down there was a silly girl inside me who always yearned for the father's love.
