She ran as fast as she could, her legs straining.
"Get back here you little brat!" Her father screamed. She muffled a cry, and hide in the little room that had a trap door in her closet. Her father would never find her here. "Katie, come out!" He taunted.
She held her hand over her mouth, trying to quiet her breathing. Her heart was racing, hoping he wouldn't find her, hoping he would pass out on the couch so she could run away. But he stayed in her bedroom, waiting.

Finally her father had walked away he had left the house, and Kat left her hide out spot, creeping down the stairs, she grabbed her bag and ran as fast as she could to get away from that house, finally collapsing in a park.

Kat awoke to a loud noisy beeping. She groaned, and went to put her hand up to her head. She looked around, and realized she was in a hospital. She shot up, pain racing through her.
"Woah, hey, calm down." A nurse said, running over to her. "Your alright, your father's worried about you."
Kat looked up, outside her room, peering in was her adopted Father. She let out a cry, "Please, don't let him in, he hurt me!" She sobbed.
"It's okay, we won't. But Im afraid you'll have to go to an orphanage." Those words ran through her brain, she was happy to get away from that monster.
