Elina

It was like every morning when the sun would shine through the closed curtains of my bedroom window. And like every morning, a dull and boring day would soon follow.

I got out of bed and stretched my muscles and my back made popping noises. Yeesh. I'm getting old. I made my way to the bathroom that joined with my bedroom, I felt my head spin from the sudden head rush and lost my balance.

Stupid headaches.

Luckily I gained my footing before my ass said a quick hello to the floor. I shook it off, walking towards the sink.

I looked at my reflection. My face looks weirder today. Then again, what aspect of my life is remotely normal in anyway. None.

After getting a good look at myself in the mirror, I took a quick hot shower to wash away the sleep that remained still heavy on my body. When I finished I headed back to the bedroom feeling a lot less sleepy than I was before.

I had already taken out clothes the previous night so that I wouldn't have to in the morning. I wore a pair of blue jeans, a white tank top that I tucked into the jeans, a baggy sweater and a pair of black and white platform sneakers. As for my hair which had a natural dirty brown colour, I just tied it up into a messy bun. Not that it would take much effort as my hair is the equivalent to a damn birds nest. It just won't do what I want it to.

Basically it was really curly. It looked nice without doing much to style it, but it was hot so, my version of a pony tail.
I was never really the type to give a damn about my appearance but that didn't mean I didn't care enough to at least put a tiny bit of effort into my wardrobe. I never really cared for shoes, make-up and other silly things that girls obsess over. I liked the simple things in life, like your books, art, music, alone time...need I go on?
I think you get it.

"Elina honey, you're gonna be late for school if you don't hurry up. Get down here!" I heard my mother shout from the bottom of the stairs.

"I'll be down in a minute!" I shout back.

"Now please!" I sighed. This woman.

I quickly grabbed my backpack and phone before jogging down the stairs. Mom was in the kitchen setting breakfast on the kitchen island where my dad sat drinking his morning coffee, and looking at the morning paper. I smiled at them.

"Ah, good morning sweetie. How's my little girl?" My dad said , folding the paper.

I walked towards him and kissed his cheek before sitting down next to him. 'I'm alright.' I said taking a sip of some orange juice.

I heard a buzzing noise and looked over at the source. It was my phone. When I looked at the screen I saw a text from my friend Meliah.

Meliah:
Lia, I need you to get here as fast as you can. It's an emergency. No wait, a Crisis!
Now hurry up and get ur ass over here.

Please?

I sighed before grabbing the container my mom already placed in front of me filled with pancakes, that I will gladly devour. I gave my mom a kiss on the cheek then looked at my dad who was already looking at me. I didn't need to say anything as he already new. My dad always new what I was thinking before I even knew myself. We're just that close.

We grabbed our things and mom threw him the car keys and a kiss. I rolled my eyes at their cuteness. But secretly, I want to grow up and have a relationship like the one my parents have.

He had already jumped into the car when my mom said, "Have a good day!"
I waved back and he drove off once I got in.

"So what type of "crisis" is Meliah going through this time.' My dad air quoted with his fingers.
I laughed. Only he would know why I'd skip the God given blessing that is breakfast just to get to school. Well, not unless you're late, but even if I was, food comes first. Speaking of which. I have some right now.
