*Yuka's P.O.V.* A few years later...
The sun shined brightly through my pink and white striped curtains. I sat up and slowly stretched as I yawned before getting out of bed. I trudged over to my closet and picked out an outfit for the day. A white spaghetti strap tank top, a bright hot pink jacket with a panda pin on the left breast, and some comfortable black tights with a pair of black high-tops.
Once I was possibly satisfied with my outfit, I proceeded to take a much needed shower. Once that was done I got dressed, grabbed my small black backpack with my wallet and other essentials in it, and headed out the door.
The sun continued to beam down on me, and the humidity was so heavy that it weighed me down.
"Maybe a jacket and tights aren't the best fashion choice right now."
I went back inside and quickly changed into a yellow sundress with a sunflower printed on the back, and black flats. Then left out the door again.
I inhaled then exhaled heavily. "That's better."
"Are you finally finished with trying to be human for today?"
That sass and annoyance...
I turned to see Hiei wearing a black and white vertically striped button down shirt with dark blue jeans and Kurama wearing a salmon pink polo with white jeans.
Kurama nudged Hiei. "Don't be rude, Hiei." He then turned to me smiling. "Good morning, Yuka. You look very beautiful."
I smiled blushing slightly. "Why thank you, Kurama." I glared at Hiei. "And hello to you too, Hiei."
Hiei rolled his eyes then turned around.
I strolled over to them after locking the door to my house. "So what do you guys have planned for today?"
"Well, Hiei wanted to keep it a surprise for you." Kurama smiled at me.
I turned to Hiei, and his cheeks were slightly flushed. I smiled. "Well. I look forward to it!"
Hiei smiled slightly.
After a rather lengthy walk...
I trudged along behind Hiei and Kurama.
"How much longer do we have to-"
Suddenly there was a loud scream. We rushed ahead to find a woman standing near a large piece of debris from the building we were standing next to and shattered glass surrounded the area.
The woman started to faint, and Kurama rushed over and caught her.
I looked at the debris then the building. There was a fairly sized hole missing in the building. "I wonder what-"
Then we all felt it. An enormous amount of energy came from somewhere.
"Who the hell is that?"
"I believe that whoever it is may be our next obstacle." Kurama walked over to us after having taken care of the woman he'd been holding.
It felt familiar. Too familiar... "I think I've met whoever it is."
"Well, whoever the showoff is we'll be ready to take them on, but for now we have a day to finish." Hiei started to walk away.
I raised an eyebrow and looked at Kurama. He shrugged then followed after Hiei.
What's up with Shorty? I hurried after them both.
After a bit more time...
"A carnival!?!" I smiled looking at the vibrant reds that littered the vast carnival that stood in front of us.
There were rides, stalls, games and more.
"Where first?!? To get food? Ooo! Look a roller coaster! Look at that huge stuffed penguin!!! It's so fluffy!!!" I was marveled by all the excitement that awaited us, and I was pretty close to exploding with happiness. If I wasn't already.
"How about we ride a few rides, eat then play some games?" Kurama smiled brightly.
"I'd be down for that. Though 3 people isn't necessarily ideal for rides. One of us is gonna be by their self a lot."
"How about you go with-"
Hiei butted in. "Well just switch who's alone every ride. I'll go alone then Yuka, then you Kurama."
Kurama weirdly smiled. "Okay. If that's what you'd like Hiei."
I raised an eyebrow crossing my arms over my chest. Why do I feel like a third wheel?
"Well let's not just stand around, let's go ride something! How about that?" I pointed to a nearby mini coaster. "It's perfectly sized for Hiei."
Hiei scoffed, and Kurama chuckled a bit. And we started heading towards the coaster. Hiei walked a bit ahead while Kurama and I followed closely behind.
"So how have you been holding up, Kurama? I heard that you've been helping out quite a bit in spirit world."
"I've been doing well. I have not been helping out as much as of late. Apparently Koenma's not in the best shape right now since his father came back for a brief period of time."
I chuckled. "That guy's got it rough. I remember when I had to go see him when I was being sentenced. He seemed like a real pushover, but I suppose him and I have both grown since then."
Kurama looked ahead of us at Hiei then back at me. "I believe that all of us have grown in some way. And certainly some of us more than others." He smiled brightly at me. "It's what happens when your friends are such a good influence I suppose."
My heart skipped a beat and my face fell slightly flushed. The way Kurama spoke sometimes was so charming. Unlike somebody I know. I rolled my eyes.
We finally reached the coaster and happily rode it.
"Ooo! How about the scrambler next?" I pointed at a bright yellow ride that was a bit a ways.
Kurama and Hiei both nodded in agreement, and we all started walking over.
I looked around at all the games and food places. Just to get an idea of what I might want to play for certain prices later. Along with what I might want to eat.
Fried donut corn dog on a stick...? What the hell is that? I laughed to myself.
"What are you laughing about?"
I looked over and Hiei was walking next to me. "It's nothing. It's nothing you'd understand."
He scoffed averting his gaze. But he seemed less pissed than usual overall. Maybe he was actually enjoying himself today.
"We're here." Kurama pointed to a very large coaster.
My eyes widened and I got chills. I had a really bad feeling about this coaster. "Um... How about we just go get some food and play games for awhile? I can just feel my stomach wanting to growl."
"Pft. Are you afraid of a tiny human made contraption Miss Saint Beast?" Hiei grinned at me.
I puffed my cheeks stomping my foot. "Me!?! Afraid? I've seen scarier cats! LETS GO LITTLE MAN!" I pulled Hiei by the arm and hurried onto the coaster.
After quite a wild ride...
I crossed my arms over my chest as Hiei struggled to regain his balance. "Pft. See not even phased one bit. How about you-"
Then Hiei suddenly started to fall forward, and I quickly caught him. Kurama hurried over.
"Hiei," I poked his cheek. "Hiei...?" I looked up at Kurama. "What happened?"
He shrugged. "I have no idea. Maybe all of this activity was too much for him. He has been quite ill as of late, but he didn't want to cancel our plans for today." He examined Hiei closer. "Maybe it would be best to take him somewhere he can rest properly." Kurama took Hiei out of my arms, and stood up.
"We could go to place. I doubt he's actually staying anywhere."
Kurama nodded in agreement, and we cut our fun short for the day and headed to my house.
