"the flowers out in the back hasn't been attended to ever since the last worker left. they're probably dead." mrs. hwang said, eyes looking all over the kitchen, instructing minho what to do with the dead flowers and what else she wanted him to do for the day, "don't plant tulips, I'm allergic to them and I hate how they look. I'm fine with whatever you choose to plant, but make sure it makes my house brighter. the front lawn also has to be mowed, tall grass does not go well with my house."
minho was writing down everything down in his mind, listening to what she was telling him, adding details just in case he forgot. so far, he's pretty sure he forgot most of the things he needed to do.
"before doing anything outside, you must clean the first floor. especially in the living area where Kkami seems to leave dog hair everywhere," the older lady later rolled her eyes at the mention of the dog, glaring at the small animal that seemed to enter the kitchen at the sound of it's name being called, "I also want you to take this stupid thing outside with you when you're attending to the garden. keep eyes on it. after you cleaned the first floor, my son will drop off his clothes that needs to be wash. don't interact with him and treat him the same way you would treat me."
"Is that everything, ms?," minho asked, posture straightening as she turned to face him.
she scoffed and shook her head, "of course not. you said you were good at cooking?,"
unsure of what she was planning to do with him, he hesitantly nodded, "yes."
"I need to go to the salon this afternoon and won't be back until sunset. the old lady that cooks for my son isn't feeling well and took the week off," mrs. hwang informed, nodding her head to the kitchen supplies, "you'll be cooking for my son, and if his friends are still here, make some food for them too. my son is also allergic to a lot of things so he'll make a list of things he shouldn't eat. He's on a diet right now, he can't gain any weight. It'll make him look horrible for the photoshoot tomorrow if he does gain anymore than what he's already gained this past week.."
"will a salad be fine?," he asked, unsure of what he could make for her son. It's all a bit frustrating for him, already having so much to do in one day. but it's his job, and he can't complain to her, or else he might lose his job.
"a salad? a salad is not enough for my hyunjinnie." mrs. hwang furrowed her brows at the idea, shaking her head and eyeing minho's presence. "before I take my leave, I'll ask him what he wants."
"okay," minho nodded and felt discomfort at how he was being looked, "I'll start cleaning from the living room, then all over the first floor."
"good." mrs. hwang nodded, and checked the time on her phone, "change of plans. my salon appointment has been rescheduled earlier. I need to leave in a hour. I expect everything nice and neat when I come back or I'm afraid I'll need to find someone else to replace you. If my son complains about you, you'll immediately get fired so watch the way you act around him. If he wants something, give it to him, understood?"
minho nodded and mrs. hwang left the kicthen, her heels sounding distant until he finally couldn't hear her anymore. he sighed in relief, looking around the kitchen that was the size of his whole apartment.
the disrespect he got from mrs. hwang was expected. the way she first looked at him when he arrived, the way she insulted his way of dressing and how she didn't even bothered to show him around. she even made him take off his shoes at the entrance, afraid he will 'dirty the floor with those shoes'. he literally just bought those pairs the other day and it costed him a lot.
"Well, minho..." he talked to himself, hands on his hips as he stared at the sleeping dog on the floor, "time to do some stupid chores and hopefully get paid enough to buy myself some better socks."
