it wasn't hard. gardening some flowers wasn't such a difficult task even with minho's lack of heat resistance to the sun, he felt satisfied how the flowers looked. sure, maybe one of them was placed a little to far while the others were placed a little to close to each other, but it was a minor thing and surely he wouldn't get fired because of a ridiculous mistake. right?

third day working, and he was soaring through the sky with an easy breeze. working as a housekeeper, a servant or whatever it was he signed up for being most definitely his thing now, well, beside dancing. he could most certainly handle being bossed around and being told to mop the floors for two months, won't be long till he could step foot at the newly renovated dance studio, where he could resume teaching and dancing and forget about the hwangs.

he hasn't met mr.hwang yet but if his personality is similar to how his wife's, he sure as hell hope he wouldn't run into him. dealing with the mother was enough, he wasn't sure if he could handle both hwangs. fourtantly for him, their son didn't seem like them at all, notably. he was rather shy, more to himself and acted withdrawn from him.

minho has heard the hwang's son laugh and shout, unpleasantly enough of times throughout the last three days, his friends, and himself playing around the house, only silencing when he was in the same room as them, the stiff quietness troubling minho has he tried to focus at whatever task he had in hand, wanting to rush his movements but also didn't want to make a fool of himself while working.

he had noticed how the hwang's son —formally introduced as hyunjin— would stare at him whenever he was near for an excessive amount of time. he found it strange, distressing, and somewhat rude of the boy. strange because it's not an everyday thing to just find, someone staring at the back of his head each and every single time he was standing by, even for someone as good-looking as minho. distressing because it made him feel uncomfortable and hard for him to concentrate in his assignment when someone was watching him with unreadable eyes. and rude because it was not polite to stare.

other than the fact he was being stalked by hyunjin and his friends —yes, it was very much noticeable, no matter how much they pinched and shoved each other to stay quiet and hidden from his view—, he found the youngers quite interesting and polite, only calling for him when they needed some sort of assistance.

he sat on the ground, perched on his knees as he observed the flowers he had 'perfectly' planted. his teeth chewed on his bottom lip as he thought over how the flowers looked, what else he needed to do outside before he could escape the sun's harmful rays and enter the coldness of the hwang's house. when he decided his job outside was finished, he pushed himself off the ground, dusting his pants and palms clear of dirty and glanced around the big yard.

his eyes located the small dog a few feet away from him, laying flat on his stomach as he chewed on his toy, his eyes locking with minho's as he moved.

"come on, puppy." minho whistled, patting his thigh couple times to make sure the dog knew he was talking to him. “let's go inside.”

kkami's teeth stopped munching on the chewy bone for a bit and continued to have his eyes on the worker, as if he was progressing minho's words in his brain and debating if he should comply and listen or continue to bite on his toy. minho wasn't shock to see the dog staying still in his spot and resuming to nibble and chomp on the toy.

minho sighed, his shoulders dropped, staring watchfully at the canine mammal. he never owned any dogs, or at least doesn't remember them, so he wasn't sure of his next step. he knew he shouldn't leave the small dog outside when the sun was scorching and the temperature was so hot, he might get in trouble if he did, but if the dog wouldn't listen to him, his only solutions could be bribing the dog with food to come back inside the house or call hyunjin or one of his friends to help him.

he certainly didn't want to go and touch the dog, much less hold him, so he couldn't possibly grab him and go. he still wasn't sure if the dog was a bitter or aggresive, and he sure did not want to go back home to tell his friends he got bitten by the owner's small dog on his third day at work. knowing his friends, he knew they would most likely laugh at him and tease him.

"c'mon, kkami," minho called out his name, hoping he would get another reaction other than a stare, but to his dismay, the dog pay no mind to him. the heat at this point was bugging him, irritating to the point he felt his skin crawl with annoyance at not just the hotness of the day but because of kkami. dogs were so disobedient.

he huffed and turned around at the sound of the back door opening and closing, followed by light steps approaching him. he watched as hyunjin drew nearer to his spot until he was just a few feet in front of him and stood between himself and the dog.

even as hyunjin's chocolate orbs met his gaze, he could sense how tensed the other was, maybe even nervous judging the way he shifted one foot to the other. it was hard to keep a small giggle from falling off his lips as minho continued to stare at the other, unsure as to why he looked anxious.

seeming to make the other male even more nervous than before, hyunjin rushed to retrieve his dog, scooping the small animal in his arms and turned to face minho head on, a small apologetic smile making an appearance on his flushed face.

"I'm sorry about him, he wasn't listening to you, was he?" hyunjin asked, holding the squirming dog in his arms closer to his chest to prevent him from escaping.

minho grinned but nonetheless shook his head, his eyes flickering to the dog struggling to free himself from his owner's hold to the owner himself who anxiously chewed on his chunky lips. "no but it's alright. I'm a stranger to him so i doubted he would listen to me."

"he usually listens to anyone," frowned the younger boy, staring down at his dog, "except for mother. he doesn't like her. he doesn't listen to anyone he dislikes."

upon hearing that, minho's eyes grew a tad big, and he broke into a small laugh when hyunjin realized what he had just said and stuttered over his words to apologize, looking frantic and embarassed.

"no! i didn't mean that like that —he just doesn't know you! im so sorry, i—," hyunjin stopped himself from babbling on, ducking his head shamefully, suddenly feeling very bad of himself.

noticing him, minho tried calming himself down, breathing in and out evenly and offering the younger a wide smile, his shoulder shrugging and hoping he didn't look bothered. "it's okay. it doesn't matter to me if he does or does not like me, it doesn't bother me at all so stop looking like that."

"it came out wrong, my words i mean," hyunjin began lightly, the tips of his noticeably red, "I'm sorry. I'm sure he likes you or will like you, but he's very playful just extremely cautious around strangers, but since you'll be here almost every day of the week, i think he'll like you! and by then, he'll listen to you and maybe even trail after you because that's what he did to my friend when he started liking him. he probably likes seungmin more than me but that's understandable," stopping anymore words from slipping, he paused, mouth slightly a jar and glanced sheepishly at the older, "sorry. i talk too much when I'm nervous."

even as he was being baked by the sun, his mood lifted at the timid boy before him, taking on the way hyunjin seemed to shrink and shy away from his gaze while holding onto his dog. the son of the hwangs was nice, minho assumes as he took in hyunjin's presences, glad he wasn't dealing with a spoiled brat but a rather normal, bashful boy. he could deal with that.

he hummed softly and looked up at the sky, squinting his eyes due to the bright rays of the sun and sighing loudly. "i think we should go inside, it's hot as fuck."

hyunjin blinked a few times at the older's language, shock evident in his eyes but was gone as soon as minho saw it. he lifted his chin and tilted his head to the side, the corner of his lips curving into a small smile. "okay, yeah. It is hot."
