The Realization

It saddened me to see another person go, but I was curious to see how I had moved to my couch from my bedroom. Then again I didn't even remember going to bed.

What was I doing last night?  I decided to look around for a moment, trying to retrace my steps. Looking on the counter I noticed A new controller for my console. I must have bought it last night before Alice was killed... What if I ran into the killer while leaving and didn't notice... Oh my god... I gotta tell Anna!

Shooting her a quick text, I began to get ready for the day

*Time Skip*

I was waiting for Anna at our usual internet cafe when I got a quick text from an unknown profile, It sent 3 emojis; a pink bow, a yellow heart, and a caramel- colored girl emoji. I was busy thinking about who it could be to notice Anna walk in. When she approached the table I noticed she was wearing a white button-up shirt with little pink designs all over it and was tucked into a pair of black skinny jeans. She had a pink bow clip holding back a piece of hair from getting in her face. Her usual glasses were replaced with yellow heart-shaped aviator glasses

"Hey Jake, Like my shades?" Anna asked as she began to pose randomly and smile.

"Yeah..." Is this what the user wants? To kill Anna? "They look great!" I replied with false happiness. I know what I must do now... Soon It will be over...soon.

I casually shook off my thoughts for a moment feeling weird and uncomfortable. I couldn't let myself get distracted from the matter at hand.

"Hey Anna, I gotta tell ya something but I don't know how to feel about it.." I said while leaning across the table, lowering my voice

"Yeah, What's up?" She leaned forward with a now hard expression across her face

"I think I may have run into the killer before Alice died..." I whispered quietly. Shock began to spread across Anna's face. I could see the questions build up in her head the more that she thought about it, before her expression turned to stone again and she leaned forward once more.

"How do you know? Did you see what they looked like?" She began to ask.

"I went there last night for a controller about an hour before she closed, they must have passed me on my way out, the police were saying she died a little bit after the closing time..." I replied

"Dude!" She loudly whispered to me "Do you remember what they looked like? You could solve the mystery of the killer!" Her voice gradually getting louder.

" You could get like a reward or something. " She replied before taking a drink from her water.

"So... What are you going to do?" She asked, setting her glass down, and crossing her arms on the table.

"I don't know, I don't remember what they looked like so saying something would be useless information to the cops," I replied looking down at the water ring her cup left on the table.

"What about the video cameras?" Anna asked, sitting up slightly at the thought.

"She only has cameras in the front of the store though..." I said realizing something quite scary

"They could see who the last person was that entered through the warehouse door before Alice died," She thought out loud. I began to remember the events that occurred last night.

Yeah, you're right, I could get caught, I thought to myself. I felt my stomach drop like a broken elevator.
