Venus scooted over and pat the spot next to her invitingly with a comforting smile, even the small kitten cross moved away from the spot and into Venus' lap to make room for Jaein.

Jaein didn't break eye contact with the small girl while she took her seat, it was something about those large eyes of hers the really set her in edge.

"What's going on?" Jaein asked Venus, she was the only thing she had even remotely like home right now. She doesn't know anything about the girl, but she's never needed someone so much in her whole life.

"Don't be scared," Venus said softly bringing Jaeins shaking hand into her own. "You can trust me, I'll get you home."

Jaein looked into her dark eyes searching for a lie and when she couldn't find one, she felt herself relax and let her hand grip Venus'.

"Hold on," Carlisle said. She then threw her head back and there was only a bright flash of light before Jaein felt herself falling.

She screamed loudly, her grip on Venus becoming so tight that the ebony girl winced a little at the nails digging into her skin, though she didn't pull her hand away.

They fell for a time perio that felt like nothing and everything at the same time, until finally they stopped, and they were standing in nothing.

Jaein was breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling erratically, and her lungs struggling to take in air, not only because she had just fallen for what felt like forever and only a few seconds at the same time, but because there was nothing beneath her bare feet but white space.

"Breathe slower, it helps."

She looked to her left at the sound of her voice and was shocked to see that Venus didn't look completely like Venus anymore. Her eyes were lined with golden dust, and she could see her canines were unnaturally sharp, her dark skin lost its glow, her hair was wildly free and her eyes were completely white spaces.

Despite the fear that held onto her, Jaein didn't take her hand away from Venus', "w-what happened?"

Venus turned her eyes up, and said, "we're in the Between. You aren't living or dead here, you're somewhere in the fence between the two yards. People like me, witches or Mortems, are in their truest forms here."

Jaein followed her eyes upwards and sucked in a breath, Koi fish the size of dragons swam in the nothingness, their rainbow colored scales glistening with the make believe light. The swam in the nothingness to a song she couldn't hear and to a pattern she couldn't see.

"Look down here," Venus pointed to the place beneath their feet.

Jaein finally tore her eyes away from the gigantic fish and followed her advice sure to once again only meet space but, this time she managed to come face to face with the bellies of small lavender colored birds, flying in a group that resembled falling petals.
