•••••••••••

Aya and a couple of Strix members drag me to a room with a cage in the middle of it.

"A cage, really Aya?" I say annoyingly, " What's stopping me from killing you all where you stand?"

Aya comes to stand in front of me, motioning with her hands for the two members holding me to let me go. They unlock the chains on my hands and take a step back.

Aya also takes a step back," I'm ready when you are Nathaniel." She says challenging me.

Not taking a chance on magic I decide to keep it physical. I get in a defensive stance.

"Ladies first." As soon as the words leave me mouth Aya takes her first swing.

Just as I'm about to dodge I realize what's going on. My vampiric abilities have somehow disappeared. I'm just able to get out of reach as Aya barely misses contact with my face. However, I don't get so lucky the second time as I feel a fast breeze past me and turn only to be met with a crack to my face that sends me to the floor.

Not wanting to give her the satisfaction, I shake off the ringing in my ears and get back up. I feel blood dripping from my nose and a sting on my cheek where bloods probably streaming out of as well.

"How does that feel Nathaniel? That feeling of being absolutely powerless.", Aya taunts as she walks slowly around me.

Before I have time to react she sends a hard kick straight to me knee. I feel a crack and use my hands to stop my whole body from hitting the floor. Pain radiates through out my entire leg but I still manage to get up while trying to balance more weight on my left leg than on my right.

I look again at Aya who seems annoyed that I got back up. In one movement, she grabs my shirt and yanks me from where I stand and slams my body hard against a wall making me feel another crack throughout my entire back. A fist connects with my face again causing blood to splatter onto the wall. I try to keep my eyes open as my body slides to the ground only to be met with a sharp kick to my ribs. I recognize the metallic taste that fills my mouth as blood oozes out of it. I attempt to pick myself up but my body radiates with pain that's too much to bare, so I give up and let my body fall to the floor.

Aya laughs," Poor Nathaniel. Who knew it took one witch with the right spell to render you incapacitated." Before I lose consciousness, I hear the door open and a woman walks in.

"I see my spell worked of course." She says as she comes to kneel beside me. "Interesting, I can still feel your power even with my spell rendering your abilities useless. I can't wait to get what is owed to me and also take a portion of your magic." She reaches out and runs her cam along my face before swaying her hand making my neck snap.

Klaus's POV

I feel my body start to heal and rage immediately feels every single one of my cells. I'm up from the floor in a second. I turn to see Rebekah's body slowly come back to life. I help her up and let me eyes roam through the compound.

"Elijah! Show yourself!", I roar out to my brother. I feel a presence behind me and turn to meet Elijah's gaze.

I charge at him, needing someone to let my anger out on. I grab him by his expensive suit and toss him to the other side of the room.

"How could you?! You have know idea what they'll do to him! You let him leave!", I shout as I make my way in front of him and strike him across his face.

"It's the only way we'll be able to figure out what's going on brother. Nathaniel knew that." He states as he catches my hand as I ready myself to stroke him again. He grabs ahold on my neck. "He is smart Niklaus! He'll figure out a way to stay alive until we can figure out where they are and what they want." He says in a low voice.

Before I can get out of his hold Rebekah comes in between us and pushes us apart. I glare hard at Elijah.

"Enough you two! Nathaniel needs us to start planning and figure out what's going on." She screams. She takes a step away from us and takes a big breath.

"Elijah, I'm assuming you and Nathaniel had planned for something like this." She states.

Elijah nods," Nathaniel figured they'd show up at some point. From what we can make of the information he gathered from the Strix members he encountered these past weeks there's someone on the outside using the power of the Strix to capture Nathaniel. Their first attempt was at the Witch's ball, which we thought was Marcel's doing but apparently Marcel's men were working apart from him."

Elijah moves towards Marcel's body looking intently at his face. "Nathaniel also was trying to figure out a way to bring Marcel back."

My heart starts to beat fast as I look towards my adopted son. "How would that be possible? He had his heart ripped out.", I say not wanting to get my hopes up.

"When you turned Marcel Nathaniel knew that he would eventually face the possibility of death. With the amount of foes you've gathered throughout the millennia it would've been a matter of time until someone would use him against you." Elijah walks to the couch to take a seat," Almost a soon a you turned Marcel, Nathaniel linked Marcel to himself. However, the link needed a sort of conduit that could be use to flow Marcel's soul through and back to his body, but In order to release Marcel's soul back to his body there has to be a release of power far more powerful than what Nathaniel can release without killing himself." Elijah says answering the question he knew we'd ask.

"So you're telling us that Marcel's soul is trapped in something and just waiting to be released?" Rebekah asks with hopeful eyes.

"In some way yes." He says warily.

"What is being used as the conduit?", I ask.

Elijah stands up and makes his way to Marcel's body again. His hands go down to pick up the small pocket watch Nathaniel had gotten Marcel when he was a teenager.

Elijah holds the chain up to our faces," He's in here."
