Lenore

I turned around and snuggled more into Finn. He was just so soft and fluffy and-wait, Finn isn't fluffy.

I opened my eyes and found myself in an empty bed. Finn nowhere to be found.

Where is he?

I was just about to call out for him but then the most amazing scent invaded my senses.

Pancakes.

I got out of bed and pulled on the same clothes from yesterday. Then I brushed my teeth and hair with the ones from the counter in the bathroom. Then I made my way downstairs when I looked the least bit presentable.

The whole house smelt like pancakes.

I padded to the kitchen and found my mate sitting there with his family, having a perfectly normal, happy conversation. "Um, hey." I greeted them with my presence.

Finn turned around at my voice then got out of his chair to hug me. "Hey baby," Finn said and gathered me in his arms. I wrapped my arms around him hesitantly, feeling the stare of Thomas and Deidre.

My mate was just wearing a plain white T-shirt and sweatpants. He smelled so good, even better than pancakes, before he pulled back and kissed my lips quickly and then my forehead. "You okay?"

I nodded, but something inside me made me want to cry and I had no idea what it was. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine."

Finn gave me a confused look and then touched my forehead with his hand. "Len, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." I could only shake my head as I stepped away from him.

"You're burning up. Let me see if you have a fever," Finn said as he stepped closer but I stepped back.

And I did feel a little bit hot.

"No. I'm fine. I just didn't sleep well," I defended myself.

Finn raised an eyebrow at my words. "That's bullshit. You slept like a baby."

I sat down in a chair, feeling sick all of a sudden.

"Lenore, sweetie, are you alright? I'm just asking out of concern, because you honestly don't look too good," Deidre exclaimed in a concerned tone.

I grabbed a plate and stacked two pancakes on it. "I'm good, just so hungry."

They watched with wide eyes as I sprayed the raspberry jam and chocolate ice cream then swallowed them both down with one bite.

I coughed a little as I swallowed then grabbed three more pancakes, but just as I had added every thing on it, the plate was pulled away. And when I looked up, I found Finn standing there with a weird look. "Len, what's wrong with you?"

"What the fućk are you talking about?" I snapped at him, baring my canines accidentally.

"You're turning white and you're acting strange. What's wrong?" Finn asked again.

I shook my head. "Nothing. I already said that I'm fine," I growled at him.

Finn jumped back at my growl. "Okay. You are not fine. Mom, dad, what's wrong with her?"

My head started to ache and spin suddenly. "I-I'm fine."

"Len? Lenore?" Finn's voice came out panicked as he rushed over to my side.

I began to see two of everything, my vision became blurry.

"I-I don't-"

I never got to finish my sentence because I fell into unconsciousness.
