Lenore
I fiddled with my fingers as I waited for Finn to arrive.
My breathing was coming out as ragged pants, probably because of how nervous I was.
I knew that the choice I was going to make would be a mistake, but I felt as if I had no other choice.
But I mean, whichever one I would had chosen then it would had ended the same way.
One worse than the other.
My leg bounced up and down, heart hammering in my chest.
Anticipation was building up inside me.
I froze when I heard the door from faraway being opened before footsteps were heard. My heart raced even faster, so it felt like it was going to jump out of my chest.
Swallowing hard as Finn appeared, looking all happy. He had the brightest smile ever while holding something behind his back. "Hey!"
"Hey," I whispered back, hating how adorable that smile was.
Finn advanced towards me, still holding something behind him in his hands. "I got you something. It's a gift."
"Why would you get me a gift?" I asked with a raised brow.
"You're my mate, Len. So I can get you a gift whenever I want, I don't need a reason." Then he pulled the gift out, which was wrapped up in wrapping paper. It seemed like a large box.
He handed me it.
"Open it," he urged me on with that big smile still.
I nodded and unwrapped it. But my brows knitted together when I had done it. I was confused when I discovered that it was a doll.
A freaking doll.
Who kind of looked like me.
"So... what do you think?"
"It-It's—" I struggled to come up with an answer.
Because it was creepy.
When I looked up, I noticed how Finn's smile fell immediately. "You don't like it?"
I instantly regretted my answer because I didn't want him to kill the poor doll. "No. I love it. It's adorable."
More like creepy.
"But I just don't understand why you got me a doll," I continued.
It surprised me when he laughed. "Because it looks like you. And I thought that you like dolls, I mean you told me that once."
Yeah, when I was eleven, was what I wanted to say.
I swallowed hard as I stared at the terrifying horror movie doll. "You're right. I do like dolls."
"I knew it!" Finn cheered, but then his smile fell again. "Are you okay? You seem sad."
"N-No, I'm fine," I protested with a lie. "Everything is just fine. I've just been thinking about some stuff."
I was confused when Finn suddenly gave me a huge grin. "I've been thinking too. Especially about what you said earlier."
"What?" I asked, my voice alarmed.
Please no.
"I've been thinking about what you said. And I've made a decision. You were so right, baby. You have been right all along."
