Taylor and the other members of the basketball team strolled up to my tree and stared at us. Not one to enjoy awkward silences I spoke. "Hay, Tay. Whats up?"
"Not your shirt," Erin muttered. I glanced down and felt heat spread across my pale cheeks. I readjusted my top and cleared my throat awkwardly.
"What have you two been up to?" Taylor asked suggestively. I looked at Ash and started laughing. Adam and Erin oohed and Taylor yelled, "Burn!" That only made me laugh harder.
Ash on the other hand, seemed to be fuming. I quickly quieted and looked at him curiously. "Are you okay, Ash?" I looked him in the eye and asked.
"Fine," he responded, sounding surly.
"It looks like you embarassed mister grumpy pants over there." Taylor said mockingly. I glared at him for a moment before standing up and brushing myself off. "Oh, noo, Junie! Don't go! I'll say I'm sorry!" He begged. He than turned to Ash and said, "Ash, I'm sorry. That was uncool of me."
I rolled my eyes and said, "I need to go to the library dumbass, see ya later." I said the last bit to Ash. Wouldnt want to give Taylor the wrong message. In fact, "Taylor, I hope you step on a lego." And with that I left.
I trudged up the hill silently cursing at myself for upsetting my one and only friend. Now he was gunna be all wierd and sulky, leaving me to hang with only Mr. Tibblesworth. I glanced back to see the group of guys laughing and horsing around. I bit my lip and refrained feom laughing. Just as I turned to open the door, I thought I saw a woman standing on the lawn. Looking at me. When I blinked, she was gone.
I shrugged it off and went into the library to start my research. It was probably nothing. In the library I fpund a hidden little alcove and settled in before beginning my quest for books. When I turned down an isle I thought I saw someone again but it turned out to be nothing. I shook off my unease and began to study.
-Roughly half an hour later-
I sighed and rubbed my temples, hoping against hope that it would ease my throbbing head. Frustrated with the fact that I had chosen a research topic that not a single book spoke about, I moved to the row of computers on the other side of the library.
The bell signalling the end of lunch had sounded shortly after I arrived at the library and I was glad I had study hall this period, like all of the freshmen. Currently, about five of them occupied the computers, leaving only three open. One on each end of the row and one in between a guy and a girl, both of which seemed to be completely absorbed with their screens. Since it was the closest seat, I pulled out the chair and sat in it. To my right was the girl, she had light purple hair that was pulled back in a pony tail and eyes that looked almost black.
Her black orbs flickered to me for a second before returning to her computer. The guy to my left, on the other hand, turned to face me and smiled warmly. "Hi, I'm Chris."
I glanced at the girl for help but quickly realized none would come. "I'm Juniper." I replied quietly. I logged on to the computer and waited for it to load. He looked at me for a couple if seconds before speaking again.
"I know you from some where."
I decided this is where I will stop because... Fire. I dunno, I'm just done. Kay then.
