This was horrifying. How did you not know your own name? You tried and tried to come up with anything, but all attempts were futile. All you did was leave you with frustration and a throbbing headache.
Seeing you struggle to come up with an answer only made the man’s smile grow; Everything was going far better than he had anticipated. It was absolute perfection, and he was going to drag it out for as long as he could. “Excuse me, miss, but you seem troubled. May I ask you, what ails you?” He asked half-heartedly. You were surprised, yet annoyed by his new proper tone.
“I don’t know... my name.” You replied hesitantly, still trying to decide what to make of this situation.
"Is that so?" The mask’s digital smile curled into a creepy grin. “Well, I am Virus!Cry, but you may call me Virus.” Virus then continued to take your hand into his own, letting the sparks from his fingertips gift you with an unpleasant shock. You scowl at him and try to rip you hand from his grasp, but his grip in inhumanly strong. Suddenly, he raises your hand higher and pecks it quickly with his lips. Again, his touch shocks you, and this time you clench your fist. “Please, come with me.” Virus cooed, his robotic voice stinging your ears. “Why should I?” You growled before he practically dragged you out of the room, completely brushing off that last question. You attempted clawing at his arms, but you didn't even make a dent in his skin. Virus laughed, yanking on your arm to speed up the pace. His force was so powerful, much like that of a accelerating bus; There was no escaping his grasp.
After towing you through the dark, dungeon like halls, Virus halted at a door that stood out from the rest of the place. Massive in size, the shiny metallic double doors were about twice your height, and a whitish glow streamed out through a long, rectangular windows at the very top of each one. Since the halls were exceedingly dark, you were left squinting your eyes as your pupils adjusted to the abundant light. “Well, are we just gonna stand here?” You hissed when the strange man leaned up against the wall with crossed arms, tilting his head back casually.
“Relax.” Virus said nonchalantly while the digital eyes of his mask drifted shut, “We’re only waiting a couple minutes for someone. Once they show up, we’ll part ways for a bit.”
“Good.” You retorted. Did this guy have mood swings or something? One moment he’s ‘Mr. Proper’, the next he’s informal as fuck. What ever the case, you were glad you’d shortly be away from him, even if it was only a little while.
Suddenly, a loud buzz rang out simultaneously to a red light lighting up above the doors, exactly in between both. A second later, the doors creaked open with more light leaking out into the area. However, this was much brighter than the windows, and you had to squeeze your eyes shut.
"What happened to 'a couple minutes'?" You muttered, shielding your face from the brightness with your arms.
“You wanted to see me, Virus?” A new voice called, followed by the almost silent pitter-patter of shoes. This voice was high pitched, but not nearly as high as Virus’, and it sounded almost like…
“Yes, Data! I need to ask a favor of you...” Virus stated in a gentle manner, as if he might hurt ‘Data’ if he spoke normally. You slowly opened your eyes, only to see Virus and a child, no older than the age of 10, staring straight at you. Their gazes brought upon an uneasiness within you, but you kept your cool and observed the scene before you. The child was a small boy whose raven black hair complemented the one, dark blue eye that it’s bangs left exposed. You couldn’t help but stare at the boys eyes. There was something about them, something familiar, but you couldn't remember. After noticing how awkward that was, you turned your attention to his outfit. Data wore an over-sized, navy blue sweatshirt with something written across his chest in black print. That too, seemed familiar.
Data turned and tugged on Virus’ sleeve. “Who’s the pretty lady?” He asked shyly while pointing directly at you. Virus chuckled, then crouched down so that he was at Data’s eye level.
“Oh. She’s just, well, I guess you could say a ‘friend’ of mine.” Virus spoke softly as he looked from you to him, stressing the friend' part. Data’s lips formed an ‘O’ shape, and then giggled.
“Do you want me to put her...” The boy paused for a second, a devious smile playing on his lips. “With him?”
“Oh, no!” Virus exclaimed immediately, standing back up with a insidious smirk of his own. “Not yet, anyway. I have very different plans for her.” He pulled out a hastily written note out of his pocket and placed it within Data’s hands . “Remind her of the things only on this list. I have some other errands to attend, and then I’ll be back to take care of the rest.”
“Yes, sir!” Data chirped. He looked a bit too excited. Virus crouched down and whispered something into the little boy's ear that only made his grin widen. "See you later!" Data shouted, watching as Virus headed back down the depths of the hallway which you came through. When he was no longer visible, Data turned to you and gave you a creepy look. The mischievous twinkle in his eye made the hairs on the back of your neck rise and you felt a strange sensation in your chest. “Come.” Data commanded, slipping his hand in yours and leading you into the strange white room.
Virus took graceful steps towards the rusted cell whose bars were caked with dried blood of the darkest red. He stopped abruptly at a particular cell, a new idea forming in that circuit board he calls a brain. Virus peaked in through the small hole at the top of the cell door, curling his fingers around the rusted bars. The entity gave a crooked smirk, his eyes flaring with a murderous fire as he detected a lone figure on the ground. Any other person would have passed it off as a stomach-wrenching pile of butchered corpse, but Virus knew all too well what lied within the foul chamber. Slowly, but surely, the mushy guts rose up, and a glob emerged from the contents. It got up slowly, chunks of organs slipping off with the rest of the bloody contents until it somewhat revealed a figure. Virus smirked at his old friend.
“You’re still present. Good! Mind cleaning yourself up a bit? I am in need of your services…”
