It'd been almost a month since Richard unknowingly caused a rift between the two lovers. Mai finally told Hauwa about the house and Richard could finally heave a sigh of relief. He'd learnt from the whole situation that it was better to tell your wife than keep it from her from her for fear of what she might think.

He and Rahmat had spent almost everyday together studying for the Mid semester exams. She's helped him more than she knew. Rahmat was a very modest person. She had said she couldn't help him with his IRL courses but she did. And he aced them much to his surprise. Rahmat also helped him chose his project topic. It was crazy to think. That if he hadn't met her he'd still be running round in circles with his life. Not that he knew what he wanted to do after school yet, but he was better. Much better.

His mother often teased him when she saw them together or she saw him smiling at his phone. A week and a half ago, his mother had called him to sit with her as she rolled the dough for the chocolate puffs. He ignored the fact that that was the first time in years that he'd seen his mother do any form of house work.

"I saw your test scores" she had said "You're doing well. Better"

"It was just the first set of tests" had been his reply

"None the less. It's good" she had said. Standing up from her seated position, she wiped her hands and pulled out a ring box from her pocket, "Ask her to marry you." his mother had said.

"Is that even necessary?" he had murmured but he took the ring none the less.

Plan something Grande his brain kept reminding him throughout the week and a half. He enlisted the help of Fareedah and Hauwa and basically all Rahmat's friends.
