When Cindy got to the other side, she couldn't believe her eyes.
Buildings taller than the skyscrapers of New York, flowers and trees everywhere and anything you could ever imagine! When she looked up and say a sign that read:
WELCOME TO WONDERLAND!
"Wonderland? That's a place in a children's book," Cindy thought to herself. This couldn't be Wonderland, could it? I mean she did just walk though a mirror and land in someplace other than the great ol' USA.
"Cindy!" Jaedan appeared in front of Cindy, but farther up the cobblestone walkway beneath her feet, "You gotta check this out!" Cindy followed her brother to this big almost pyramid looking building. The sign on the top of the building had flashing lights that read: HATTER'S TEA SHOP. "Hey that's our last name," Jaedan exclaimed.
"Really? I hadn't noticed the bright neon letters," Cindy said. The building looked run down and old considering all the foliage covering it. It actually seemed like the only old building in the area. She and her brother entered, they could hear a voice, but didn't see anybody. Cindy led the way towards the back of the room. They found a door partially open and heard the voice continuing through there.
"Hatter I have no idea what's going on! They come asking for you everyday and I tell them the same answer: You died saving Wonderland from the Queen of Hearts when Alice of legend showed up. The Tea Shop was left to me and I took on the name Hatter," the boy looked like about Cindy's age. His dark hair almost completely hidden by his top hat. Jaeden pushed on the door to get a better look, causing the door to creak. Cindy smacked her brother's shoulder, "I'll call you back. I think someone's here," the boy said. He hung up the phone and stood up. "C'mon! Show yourself! I know you're there." Cindy sighed and opened the door the rest of the way.
"We didn't mean to interrupt! We just saw the sign and wanted to see who owned the place," Cindy said, her confidence wavering.
"Who wants to know?" The boy looked her up and down and did the same to her brother.
"My name's Cindy and this is my brother Jaeden. Our parents are Alice and David Hatter. We just thought-"
"Wait you're Hatter's kids?"
"Yeah...?"
The boy put his head in his hands, "Shit."
