"Mom, I'm going to school."

"Wait for your brother, Cindy," her mother said, "Just because you're starting senior year doesn't mean you can leave your freshman brother behind."

Cindy came in and sighed as she sat down next to her father at the kitchen table. Her father drinking his normal morning tea, (no cream or sugar) never coffee while his brown top hat and leather jacket hung on the back of his chair. Her mother was cleaning the dishes in her blue drew with red leggings and boots.

"Here I am sis," Her brother Jaedan said, "I'm ready to go."

"Finally," Cindy said, "Let's go!"

"Ah,ah,ah," their father started, "not so fast."

The kids turned to their father, Cindy looked annoyed and Jaedan as innocence as his little heart, as he stood up from the table. He outstretched his arms and said, "You're not leaving without giving your mum and I a hug." Their father smirked his signature smirk.

Jaedan was the first to react and gave his father a big hug, then went to his mother and did the same.

"Ugh," Cindy said, annoyed that she still had to do such childish things.

She reluctantly followed Jaedan's actions and ran towards the door.

"Bye mom, bye dad," Jaedan called as they closed the door and headed towards school.

"Well there they go," their mother started, "off to greener grasses and horrible lunches." Their father laughed.

"Oh Alice, you always know how to make me smile."

"Well I try Hatter, I mean David."

Alice, having finished the dishes sat on her husband's lap at the table. He looked at her with sincere eyes.

"Alice, when are we gonna tell the kids? They're always asking about stuff like: Where was I born? How did we meet? Where are their grandparents on my side? All of the things we can't answer, truthfully without mentioning Wonderland once."

"I know," Alice started, "Maybe now that they're older, I don't know. I'm just scared."

"I know Alice, but they need to know. They need to learn about their history," David said.

"What if they never speak to us again because we've been lying to them their entire lives?" Alice's eyes were full of concern. David paused.

"Then I'll make sure you're okay," David said quoting himself from what seemed like ages ago.

Alice kissed him and reveled in the fact that he was actually here.

"Thanks sweetheart," Alice said, her eyes sparkling, "Now let's just hope our kids survive their first day of school."
