*Jonah's POV*

Alexys and I stopped at the skate park near our school. There was one guy there, curly hair and on the shorter side. He nodded to us when we got there but stayed out of our way.

"Hey, Jack," Alexys said and waved to him.

Jack nodded back to her, didn't say anything.

"You know him?" I asked.

"Yeah, he goes to our school. Him and Kat were chill, like siblings," Alexys shrugged, "They fought like it too."

Jack did some sort of trick then came over to Alexys. They both fist bumped and then he looked at me.

"Know any tricks?" Jack asked, picking up his skateboard.

"Yeah Jonah, know any tricks?" Alexys crossed her arms and smirked at me.

"No, no I'm good," I said and took a step back.

"K, see you 'round Lex," Jack nodded to Alexys then put his skateboard back on the ground and went back to the actual skate park.

"Lex?" I asked, using my chance to cross my arms and smirk at Alexys.

"What? I'm friends with him. He acts tough but, trust me, when you get to know him he's just a big softy," Alexys nodded to me.

"I don't think the tough thing is just an act," I said, we watched as Jack did another trick.

"Anyway, mystery solving time," Alexys smiled.

"Do you know how hard it's going to be to try to solve a mystery when it's midnight?" I asked, "It's so dark outside."

"Try, Jonah," Alexys said, "I know sneaking out isn't really your thing. I don't think going to a skate park is even your thing but just try. Try something knew. Be adventurous."

"I can be adventurous," I tried to say.

"Stop making jokes and help me look around," Alexys smirked at me.

"What are we even looking for?" I asked.

"Traveling brochure, graffiti, anything Kat would've saw that would make her runaway," Alexys explained.

"Okay..." I trailed off.

We both looked around. There was only the sound of an occasional car driving by and Jack's skateboard. Otherwise, it was quiet. Not really a scary quiet but just a weird quiet. A quiet that made us realize what we were doing and that Kat was actually gone.

"Hey, Jonah!" Alexys called out.

I ran over to her, she was on the other side of the skate park. She was kneeled down, looking under a bench. I ran over and kneeled next to her. In her hands was a travel brochure. It looked like it had been rained on and stepped on many times.

"Obviously it's been here a while," Alexys said, noticing the same thing I was, "Do you think it's Kat's?"

"I don't know, maybe," I shrugged.

Alexys opened it. We looked inside and a bunch of prices were circles in red marker or nail polish. I couldn't tell which.

"How much money did you give her in total?" Alexys asked.

"I don't know, maybe $300," I replied.

"How'd you get that much money?" Alexys asked and in shock.

"Christmas and birthday money I've been saving over the years," I told Alexys, taking the brochure from her and looking it over myself. All the prices that were circled were under L.A. It was much more money then I gave her though.

"Hey, Jack! How long has this brochure been here?!" Alexys called out to him.

The sound of the skateboard stopped and Jack walked over to us. He looked over Alexys's shoulder and examined the brochure.

"Never noticed it," Jack shrugged, "Looks like it's been here awhile."

"Yep," Alexys nodded and carefully flipped through the pages, trying not to rip them.

"What are you guys doing?" Jack asked.

"A little detectives work," Alexys shrugged.

"Don't get yourself into too much trouble, Lex," Jack said then went away. It was late, why was he even out here? Then again, we were out here too.

"Okay, Jonah, next stop," Alexys nodded.

"Already?" I asked.

"Yep, I got what I needed from here," Alexys smiled, tucking the travel brochure in her coat. Then we left, time for stop #2.
