*Jonah's POV*
We pulled up to the museum. I don't know what we had been thinking, it was closed. The windows were dark and not a single car was in the parking lot, well, besides ours.
"Alexys, no one is here," I said.
"I know that," Alexys nodded, she got out of the car anyway.
I got out too and walked next to her as she walked up to the front doors.
"How are we going to get in? It's closed," I said.
"It hasn't been open for years," Alexys said as she continued to walk.
"Then how did you and Kat come here?" I asked.
Alexys silently walked up to the doors. She faced me as she pushed them open. So technically the museum had been opened just no one had been in it. Besides Alexys and Kat that is.
"Alexys, should we be doing this?" I asked.
"Hell no, but we're going to anyway," Alexys said then held out her fist for me to bump, "For Kat."
"For Kat," I nodded and gave her a fist bump.
We walked through the museum. At the skate park it had been a weird quiet, here it was just a creepy quiet. There was cobwebs hanging off some pictures that hung off the wall. So, when the museum closed they didn't even take the art? That's a little dumb, some of this stuff was actually cool. There was dust everywhere, on everything. I didn't know how I'd never seen this building before.
"This was Kat's hideaway, I already checked if she was here a couple days ago. She's not, but maybe we'll find something else," Alexys shrugged.
"Wait, you came by yourself?" I asked.
"Yeah," Alexys nodded, pulling her phone out of her pocket and turning on the flashlight. Why hadn't we done that earlier?
"You shouldn't do that," I said.
"And why not?" Alexys asked.
"Because I wouldn't even come here by myself," I replied, wiping a cobweb off of my face.
"Well, you and me, we're a lot different," Alexys said.
"That wasn't good grammar," I shook my head.
"Point proven," Alexys sighed.
I took out my phone too and turned on the flashlight. I looked at old painting. None too fancy, this looked like one of those 'trying to impress teenagers' museums.
"Hey, Jonah," Alexys said.
I walked over to her and we both put our flashlights on the same painting. Well, it wasn't really a painting. It was some graffiti.
"That's Kat's," Alexys said.
I couldn't really tell but then after she said that, I could tell that it was Kat. It was totally her handwriting, just more bubbly.
"L.A." Alexys and I both read at the same time.
"So, that's where she is. L.A.," Alexys sighed.
"Well, maybe, we don't know that," I told her.
"I know, Kat. She's in L.A. She wouldn't have wasted her time writing this stuff if she wasn't. Deep down, I think she wants someone to find her," Alexys said, running her hand over the graffiti.
"Maybe," I shrugged.
"Not just anyone, I think she wants me to find her," Alexys continued.
"Alexys, don't just leave and go run after her. Maybe we should tell the police that she's in L.A.," I said.
"And let Detective Reagan handle it, no thanks," Alexys shook her head.
She stopped looking at the graffiti and turned to look at me. Suddenly, there was some high pitch sounds and the walls turned red and blue.
"There's the police now," I said.
Alexys didn't say anything. She grabbed my hand and started sprinting towards my car. She got in the passenger and I got in the driver like normal.
"Jonah! What the hell are you waiting for?! Go!" Alexys yelled.
"Okay, alright. Geez," I said.
I started the car and drove away. The police entered through the museum. Alexys turned around in her seat to watch the whole scene as I drove away.
When we were a while away from the museum Alexys sat back down in her seat and sighed.
"Okay, what just happened?" I asked.
"That's private property, I may have left out that detail. I don't think the police were there because of us though. I think they think Kat might be in there. She's not, they'll just find the same clues we did," Alexys explained.
"So, we could've just gotten in bad trouble?" I asked.
"Trespassing. No big deal. Chill," Alexys said.
"That's actually a big deal," I said.
"Whatever. Can you just drop me off at my house? I think we've had enough for one night," Alexys said.
"Yeah," I nodded.
Then I went to drive her home.
