Blairs P.O.V
May 12th
"Blair! You're going to be late for school! Get up right now!” I heard my mom yell from down the hall. Ugh, it’s that time of the day again hearing my mom yell. I opened my eyes slightly as I look out the window. Unsurprisingly, it is still pitch dark with no sign of the sun rising soon. I look at my clock; it reads 6:15 am. I sluggishly get off my cozy bed and get my clothes that I will wear for today. I grabbed a white, sparkly tank top, black leggings, and my moccasins; a classic attire for me. Well, time for me to head over towards the shower and become squeakily clean. I’ve finished with my shower and head over to the bathroom mirror. Still steamy from the shower, I wipe part it off so I can see my face on it. Well, time to put my makeup on; a light foundation as the base, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and light gloss. There we go, now I look better, hiding all of my imperfections I’m gifted with. My hair seems to be out of shape; maybe curling my brown hair will do the trick. Now that I’m ready for the day, I grab my backpack from my room, and start to walk downstairs where I see my mom cleaning up some mess in the kitchen. I go to the front door, and yell, "Mom i'm leaving!" My mom yelled back, "Okay sweety have a good day!" Oh yeah, I'll have a great day at school mom. I grab an apple and walk out the door.
I start walking to the subway station that is conveniently located close to my house. I have been doing this for such a long time that the whole area between my house and the subway is permanently etched into my brain. Nothing interesting ever happened here for as long as I have been attending my high school. Like everyone else, I spring for my iPhone while walking and decided to see what’s new on twitter and facebook. No notifications from anyone. Oh well. I thought to myself I'll just scroll through my news feed. I’m not going to lie, there are quite a few hilarious updates from some pages I liked and followed. I was checking it for about 5 minutes before looking up and almost running into a pole. Not today! As I walk around the pole, I arrive at the station I see my friend, Tammy. She sees me and waves at me as I walk over to her.
"Hey Blair!" She smiled. "Hi Tammy!" I smiled back at her. Our brief exchange got interrupted by the sound of the subway coming. It screeched to a halt as people were exiting and entering it. Tammy and I were the first ones to get in, and as we got on the subway, I quickly looked at the time. 7:10am it reads. That gives us 50 minutes to get to school; more than enough time. I look over at Tammy and she's on her twitter looking at the newsfeed. She looks up from her phone "Depressing tweets kill my vibe." she said. I laughed a little because it’s the obvious truth. "Why aren't you talking as much as you usually do Blair?" She asked. Truthfully, I don't know myself. However, I did realize today is Monday; the bane of the whole week. I told Tammy, "It’s Monday." Mondays are going to be the end of me. It already started off mundanely, and I honestly do not expect it to be any better. I looked at her and she gave the expression saying “completely understood.” Tammy and I have not been really talking to each other for this ride. Instead, we were just immersed into our phones to cut the time. It’s been like that for a solid five minutes. Then, I feel the subway coming to a stop. Hooray, we’re finally here. The subway stops and we both get off. Now, we start our adventurous trek to the magnificent school we both go to. Once I get in sight, I look at the school. It looks a lot bigger than it really is, I thought to myself. It is true; the school is actually pretty big. However, going there for three years straight, it feels as if the whole school is miniscule in comparison. I guess that’s how it goes for any student really.
We walk into the school to see nothing has change about it at all. The same old hallway, the same old classrooms, it seems like somethings are forever stuck in the past. First period, bleh. I hear the first bell go off, signaling the start of the school day. I turn to Tammy and said "Cya later", with the both of us smiling before heading towards our lockers. I approach my rusty locker and I grab my books and my pencil case for the first few hours of classes. I close my locker harder than intended and it made a loud noise. Well, opps, I thought to myself. This locker is not worthy of being taken care of anymore really. Anyways, I start walking to my first class, and pull out my iPhone to look at the time. 7:55am, it read. Class will start any minute. Bleh. My first class is Chemistry with Mrs. Merkel. I walk into the classroom and sit at my table with my partner, Julia. We talk to eachother in class about a lot of things. It might sound like we get along well, but outside the clasroom, we diverge. It's almost as if we don't know each other; just two strangers in this world. That's usually how it is in highschool, I thought to myself.
