My legs were going as fast as they could. I'm not usually this hot-headed, but the whole situation had my head spinning, and so I run, just like I did when I was a kid. I ran for what felt like a good hour, but everywhere I turned it all looked the same. My breath was hitched in the back of my throat and as I stopped I leant against a tree, trying to regain my breath.

The map in the study only covered some of the woods and I had past the end of the map ages ago. The air was still and everything around me was silent. I started to move more slowly trying to get more distance between that strange house, the people that reside in it and myself.

I tie my hair up in a messy pony tail, continue to trek my way through the woods. I know full well that I won't get far with only a book and no food or water.

In the distance behind me I heard a twig splinter and my head snaps towards the sound. I rush towards a massive fallen log and slide over the top of it. I crush my knees to my chest and hold my hand over my mouth trying to silent my breathing.

My heart was pounding out of my chest and my hands started to shake. I felt like I was being hunted, the predator and its prey playing a sick game of hide and seek.

The footsteps were coming closer to where I was and all of a sudden, they stopped and I swear my heart did too. I felt a dark aura surround me and enter my lungs.

"You look lost." I look up to see a handsome face glancing down at me. I shriek and push myself away from the log, strands of hair tearing from my head, strands that were snagged on its bark.

I stumble back onto my feet and turn to run again, but I bump into a body.

Looking up again I see the same face as before. My head swings back and forth from where he was standing before to where the guy is now and I let out a long-staggered breath.

"Please don't scream," the stranger said. It was like he was reading my actions to a T. My knees felt like they were knocking together from fright.

"Who are you...?" I walked back away from him and he smiled. My eyes locked onto his two-pointed sharp looking canines. I drop my book I was reading before and almost tripped over some tree roots.

"My name is Adam, and yours is?" I looked up at his face, perfect pale skin, dark black hair with almost a midnight blue tint too it. It was so mesmerizing.

"Ja-" I covered my hands over my mouth with a gasp. His smile seemed to grow even bigger at my actions. His eyes were what gave him away, blood red.

"You don't seem to be as afraid as other humans I have met." I didn't care what he was blabbering about I just knew that from the information in the books I have read over the past couple of days that I wouldn't stand a chance trying to get away.

"You're a vampire..." It sounded like a question but I was just confirming it with myself.

He hummed in response, "smart cookie you are." Adam sniffed the air and raised his eyebrows at me. "You smell like wolf, why are you here..." he seemed like he was talking to himself.

Everything that came out of his mouth mad no sense especially the next couple of words.

"I'll make you mine then."

Those words made the hair on the back of my neck stand and my legs wobble. I took another step back and not realizing where I was going, and I tripped.

Before I knew It, I was falling in almost slow motion, but I never hit the ground. My heart was pounding and my mind confused as my skin flared up in delight.

Grayson pulled me back up and held me against his chest.

"Adam," his chest vibrated behind me and I stopped breathing.

"Grayson! It's been a while. I see you've found your mate." The dark creature wasn't smiling before like he was with me and it made him seem more menacing.

The once still air in the woods were now thick and almost suffocating from the two auras fighting against each other. They seemed to stare into each other's eyes for a long time before speaking again.

"It has been a while Adam." Grayson's voice was gruff and his breathing was calm, "You should have called if you were coming to visit. You know you're the only dark creature whose company I actually enjoy."

Adam looked at me with his crimson eyes and I could see a small smile peak from the edge of his lips. "Well? Why don't we head back to yours then and have a drink?"

I was so memorized by the creature in front of me that I didn't even realize that Grayson had his hands around my waist. I step away from him and he looked at me with those cold blue eyes.

"Let's go then," I spoke bluntly looking up at Grayson before starting to walk in the direction we came.

I could hear him sigh deeply before starting to walk behind me along with Adam. I listened into their conversation whilst trying to look like I was ignoring both of them.

"You haven't told her yet have you." I could feel his red eyes burning into my back as he spoke.

"She's not stupid, I can tell she's catching on," Grayson grunted in response.

No, I'm not stupid. I know full well what creature walks behind me right now. One a vampire and the other...well I have a small peck in the back of my mind telling me exactly what he is.

The mansion like house slowly came into view again and I could see Ryan standing on the porch arms crossed and no smile to be seen on his face. There were a couple of other people coming out the front door, whose faces were easy to read. There seemed to be relief from most of them, but for what or who.

The woods aura fades behind me and I take a deep breath as my heart and brain fight each other about another plan for running away.

I see Louis in the crowd with a smile on his face and I couldn't help but smile back. I could see his eyes drift to the two people behind me and as soon as his eyes landed on Adam he growled and jumped off the porch.

"Why is this thing here!" I turned around to see Adam smiling, his pointed teeth showing again.

"I'm congratulating a friend's pack on finding their Luna." Adam's eyes seemed to drift to me for a split second before looking back at Louis...who was now a wolf.
