"Mae, your love potion didn't work!" Sara walked towards me while I sipped on my hot mug of coffee. I carefully read the ingredients sticker, when I noticed something missing.
"It seems that I made a grave mistake!" I said. Magical potions are tricky and it could've caused a lot of damage. Sara told me to not worry too much about it.
We had been friends since childhood, and both of trusted each other with our lives. So, when she asked me to brew a love potion to attract her boss, a man she had madly fallen in love with, I was surprised. Not only did she not mention about him to me, but she also asked me to do something unethical.
But our friendship was more important.
The sun was on the verge of setting by the time I managed to get the missing ingredient and leave the shop. Sara would get impatient, so I decided to add it as I walked home. It was then I bumped into someone. I felt something warm fall on my shirt.
"I am so sorry." I heard a velvety voice. I was dumbstruck when I removed the papers from my face, because standing before me was Adonis himself. He helped me get up while continuing to apologize to me. When he touched me, I felt a jolt in my chest. It looked like he felt it too, because he stopped speaking and just continued to look at me.
Moments passed like that he finally let go of me. I took a step aside from him and started walking my way, when I heard him shout. I stopped and looked back, only to see him walking towards me.
"If you don't mind, would you like have coffee with me tomorrow?" I didn't think twice and said yes. I told him my name and gave him my phone number. I couldn't wait for tomorrow to come quickly.
"My name is Ethan, by the way. Ethan Landon." He said and went on his way.
I continued to walk home with a smile on my face. That was when I realized what had happened.
My love potion was no longer in my hand, and Ethan Landon was the name of Sara's boss.
I was doomed.
