Chapter2: Nothing 'News'
•Rae Belle's POV•
I opened my eyes and the first thing I see is a wall so I turned around. We were already in the roof of a building in L.A. I turned around and saw Nat, Cassie, Roni, and...
"Guys? Where's..." I trailed off and my brows knitted in confusion. They looked around while straightening their slightly crumpled dresses and hair. They all shrugged.
Hmm. That's weird.
I tried to make a telepathic contact, and felt her consciousness still on. I should probably talk to her. Anyone who I connect my thoughts
with can talk back to me. The perks of being a diamond.Kate, where are you?
Ugh. Thank God. Rae, I'm here at Los Alamos.
What the hell are you doing in Mexico?
The girls turned there heads at me and gave each other a knowing look. They all started group grumbling.
Um.. Uh.. This is ridiculous. I should have taken that training seriously.
Oh Kate. This is a common problem by a lot of witches. Not enough focus and even just a bit of mistake using the black pearl? You'll end up somewhere else. And the worst is we have to wait for an hour before the pearl works again. Though she can, she can't just fly in the public.
Kate! Great. Now we have to wait.
I'm sorry okay. Don't yell at me. Isn't it bad enough I ended up inside a huge garbage truck?
Serves you right.
I could imagine her pouting. After forever, she finally appeared.
"Guys! Finally!" Kate gave us a relieved expression.
We all took in the horrible sight in front of us.
"Eew. You look like hell." Roni gave her a once over and her face scrunched up. Kate's dress was covered in bits of garbage.
"I feel bad already,Stop rubbing it in!" She scowled. Kate hates it when she was given unpleasant remarks.
We started down the building on the way, people gave us weird looks. I mean, who wouldn't? Isn't that supposed to be your reaction when you see five girls who looked like they came out of the broadway wardrobe and one of them looks like she fought with a cat over the trash? Yeah. I think so too.
We walked over the bathroom and locked the door. We just can't take it anymore. Tearing the lower part of the long, puffed dress and its balloon shoulders.
"That's better." Nat said.
"Yeah but we still need clothes." Roni commented.
"Yeah. I still stink." Kate added.
So eventually, we found the nearest place where we can buy and found Fashion Square. We picked up everything that attracted our eyes and went to the counter with an almost mountain-like cart full of clothes after two full hours. The cashier eyed us suspiciously when she saw our cart but still punched everything in. Why do we always get that expression?
Shortly, she told us the price and to her surprise, Roni held out a crystal stone near her face. The cashier looked at it carefully and turned her eyes on Roni like she grew another head.
"This isn't an exchange shop." She simply said and was about to call someone who I'm guessing is a security guard.
"Wait! Just take a careful look at it or you'll miss something important."
Roni said with a serious look.
