Melanie pov On the way the siblings asked me various questions. I avoided answering certain ones. Edward spoke. " Where's your other sister?" " Bella? She's been off visiting family in Alaska." " Oh." Just then my phone rang again. " Damn. Not now Peter." I muttered under my breath. I ignored it and continued to drive. I'm going to kill my brother when I'm done driving.
We pulled up to the house and they were all shocked when they got out.

Alex came skipping out. " Yay! You're here." I rolled my eyes then motioned with my hands. He looked at me. " I'm gonna go call Peter back. Can you take them around?" " Of course. Go call Yoda back before he has a fit." I rolled my eyes then went.
Alexander pov I smiled as I watched Mel go off to call Peter. " Okay. Now come on in."
I brought them in and took them to the kitchen. Carlisle and Esme were in there fixing a meal with Emma and Ryan. Esme smiled and came over. " Hi. We're fixing Italian for you all." " Oh. Thank you." Emmett said. " This is Esme. Our mother." I said. " Nice to meet you." Alice said. Esme smiled and nodded. Carlisle came over and put his arms around Esme's waist. " You've given us a chance to use the kitchen properly for once." I laughed. Mel came in just then. " Geez. Make it sound like we never eat dad." Carlisle chuckled. I smirked. " How's Yoda?" She rolled her eyes at me. " He said to tell you to behave for once and stop calling him Yoda."
Melanie pov Alex smirked. " You call him that." "Cause I can get away with it." Ryan smirked. " Yeah cause she can get away with a lot." I threw a towel at Ryan and he smirked. Carlisle spoke. " Ryan please be nice to your sister." He shrugged and got back to work. Alex smiled. " Okay. How about I show you all where to put your stuff and then we can settle in." Alex took them out before they could get a word in. Carlisle spoke. " Well that went well."
After a bit I went to my room to see Jasper settling in. He looked up and looked shocked. " This is your room?" I laughed. " Yeah. Alex likes to do this type of stuff."

" No. I meant it suites you. This type of room. Plain and simple. Not over the top." I laughed. " I'm gonna take that as a compliment." " Good. Cause that's how I meant it." I laughed and sat down. " So who was that on the phone?" " Oh. Peter? He's my brother in everythin cept blood. And he has an annoyin habit of meddlin. He's kinda a know it all which is why I tease him and call him Yoda." Jasper spoke. " Oh. He lives far?" " Yeah. Lives outside of Dallas with Charlotte, his fiancé." Jasper nodded then looked at my books. " You have a lot of history books." I chuckled. " Yeah. It's my favorite topic. Specially the civil war." He smiled. " I can tell." Just then a throat was cleared. I saw Alex standing there. " Mom says dinner is ready." I nodded my head then stood up.
After dinner Jasper and I got to work on our project. At one point I decided to pretend to fall asleep.
Jasper pov I looked over to see Mel sound asleep on one of the couches in her room. God she was gorgeous. I closed the book after marking the page and put a blanket over her. " She's asleep?" I looked to see Ryan standing there with a smile. " Yeah. She fell asleep reading." Ryan chuckled. " Not surprised. She's exactly like dad in that sense. She loves to read." I looked at Mel again. " You know she likes you." Ryan sat down next to his sister's head. " She likes you a lot. Otherwise she really wouldn't have spoken to you." I blushed but shook it off. " How long have you known her?" He smiled. " I was 6 and Alex and Mel were 8 when I was adopted by mom and dad. I was scared about meeting my new siblings. I was worried they wouldn't like me. But they did. Mel especially was happy to have a little brother. We've been close ever since I came." I laughed. " She is the type of person to accept people isn't she?" He laughed. " It's more than that. Little tiger is a fighter. She'll fight tooth and nail to protect her family. You know the day I showed up Mel walked right up to me and gave me a hug. She said that she knows I'm bigger but she'll protect me just as I'll protect her. It was interesting. This little eight year old girl telling her new brother that she'll protect him. But she has. She's always protected us." " That I can picture." Just then Mel stirred. Ryan smiled. " I'm gonna go before she yells at me for being in her room without her permission. See ya." He took off quickly and then Mel woke up. I smiled. " Nice nap?" " Yeah." She sat up and stretched. " It's getting late. Let's call it a night and we'll continue tomorrow." I nodded my head then stood up.
Melanie pov I got changed into pajamas in the bathroom. Then I went out. Jasper had already changed and was settling into the bed. I smiled and went over. I laid down and spoke. " Sleep well." Jasper chuckled. " You also." Once he had fallen asleep I got up quietly and sped out.
I saw Ryan and Emma in the living room. Carlisle and Esme had retired for the night and Alex had left. Ryan watched me with nervousness. I rolled my eyes and sat down. " I'm not angry you annoying little brother." He chuckled. Emma was laughing. " Geez. You really are stupid sometimes." I smiled and shook my head. My siblings were crazy.
