Jasper pov
It had been a week since the sleepover weekend. I couldn't stop thinking about what I found out about Melanie from her father, Dr. Cullen. He had told me one night that Melanie rarely talks to anyone outside of her family so it was nice to see she had met someone outside of the family. He had also told me that Mel was unique. Esme had told me that Mel was always a daddy's girl and would remain one. The two were very similar in many ways.

Today Alice wouldn't stop bugging me about asking Mel out. And I finally decided to cave.

During the class I had with Mel I waited for her to come in. When she did she came over and sat down. I spoke.
" Hey."
" Hey."
" So. I wondering if you were free this Saturday?" She looked at me.
" Yeah. Why?"
" Well. Do you want to maybe go out this weekend?"
" Like a date?" I blushed.
" Um. Yeah." She smiled.
" Sure. I'd like that." I smiled and she smiled back. Then class started and we got to work.

Melanie pov
Bella was back today. We all sat at our usual table at lunch. Alex grinned at me.
" Someone is watching you sis." I looked to see Jasper watching me. I smiled and waved. He waved back. Ryan chuckled when he saw my thoughts.
" He asked you out?" My other siblings looked at me.
" Yeah. He did." Alex grinned.
" Please tell me you said yes."
" Hmmm. Who knows."
" Don't make me call Peter." I rolled my eyes and just ate. Alex huffed then looked at Ryan.
" Sorry. I'm not answering." Bella spoke.
" Are you seriously going to go out with him?" I kept quiet then got up and went out.

I was getting some stuff from my locker when a hand was placed on my shoulder.
" You okay?" I turned to see Jasper standing there.
" Yeah. I'm fine." He didn't look convinced.
" Hey. Do you want to skip?"
" Is the Chief's son suggesting we skip?" He chuckled.
" I guess I am." I smiled and nodded.
" Then I'd love to."

We went and relaxed and had fun before my phone rang. It was Emma.

" Emma. What is it?"
" Bella saved Edward from a van. We're at the hospital." I tensed and growled lowly.
"I'll be right there."

I hung up and sighed. I looked at Jasper.
" Your brother Edward was in an accident. He's fine but I have to check on my sister. She was there also." He nodded looking worried.

We pulled into the hospital and I rushed to where dad was. He was talking to a nurse when he saw my worried expression. He shooed the nurse away.
"Melanie. What is it?" I spoke quietly.
" Bella saved Edward from being crushed by a van. Can you check him?" He nodded and left with me following him.

When I found Bella, Emma was yelling at her. Dad came shortly after and we talked.
"Are you insane? You could have exposed us." I hissed.
" But I didn't." Emma growled.
" You almost did. You stopped the van with your hand and sped to him."
"What was I supposed to do? Just let him die?"
" This isn't just about you. This is about all of us." Carlisle spoke.
" I think we should take this in my office." We all looked to see Edward watching us. He asked if he could talk to Bella for a minute.
"Emma. Melanie." Carlisle took us away so we could wait. We stayed close and listened. He knew that something was up. Not good.

Friday we had a field trip and I needed to figure things out. Bella, Alex, and I were headed to the busses. We got on the busses. Jasper and Alice were on the same bus as us. I kept close to Jasper. He talked to me.
" So are we still on for tomorrow?" I laughed.
" Definitely. I can't wait." We continued to talk.

After the trip I saw Bella talking to Edward. Oh great. Alex and I shared a look. We went over. Alex spoke.
" Hi. Um.....Are you gonna be riding with us?"
" No our bus is full." Bella said then banged on the door. It opened and we got in.
