Skylar POV
{~~~~~~}"Come on it wasn't that bad!" May protests besides me. It's lunch time and we are sitting under a tree near the football field, waiting for Logan and James to finish chatting with their coach.
"Yes it was!" I say, facepalming.
"Come on! Your Skylar Halliday! The World Sensation! You're crazy Famous. These people practically worship you!" She rants on and on.I blush. "Please stop. I don't like those words," I ask, cringing. "You know it's true! Almost every teen boy has a crush-"
"STOP!" I shout, frustrated. She blinks dumbfounded. As if she is processing the fact that I just snapped at her. "Sorry, May. I'm really sorry, I just don't like those words. I can't explain why, I wouldn't even know where to start," I apologize."No it's fine. It was my fault I guess," She replies awkwardly. I feel so bad. I give her a weak smile and she returns it. After that, we sit in silence waiting for the boys to arrive.
I perk up when I see them turn away from their coach and begin walking towards where we are sitting.
"You're hair is mess May!" James gasps. She gasps as well and begins to dig in her tote for a mirror. Logan and James watch in amusmemt. James has a huge smirk oh his face.
"You liar. It's fine!" She debated.
"Are you sure?" James asked, right before ruffling her hair."No! Jerk! Do you even know how long it took to get it just right this morning!?" She whinned letting out a sigh as she began to repair the damage he did. "Sorry, just teasing you," James chuckled.
"Hey," Logan said, sitting opposite of me. Facing me, just like back at the cafe. James does the same with May.
"Hi," I say smiling a bit. I'm still pretty upset about what went down between me and May. I know it was minor, kind of, but I really shouldn't lash out like that about anything revolving my career. I just want to avoid the the whole subject. Also, she's my best friend, and I just yelled at her.
"How was your first day at a real Highschool, huh?" Logan asks with a grin. I shake off my thoughts and reply, "A total bust," I sigh. "Yeah. I heard," he sighs too.
"Who else heard?" I ask, already knowing the answer. "Everyone," he replies biting his lip, nervously. I facepalm once again. Of course.
"It should all blow off soon," he reassures. I look up from the strand of grass I was staring at. "I hope you're right," I say.
He looks over at May and James, who seem to be deep into a heated argument of whether Lilo and Stitch or Aladdin is the better Disney movie. James obviously votes for Lilo and Stitch.
Logan stands up and turns back to me, with an outstretched arm and hand, gesturing for me to join him. I grab his hand and right when our hands touch, I get the goosebumps again. And it's not because of the cool weather.
"Where are we going?" I ask him confused. He looks over at James and nods as in a way of saying "Later" or "See you soon". James returns the nod and fixes his attention back to May who is defending Aladdin. He just smiles at her, amused.
"Umm, Logan?" I ask again. "It's a surprise," is all he says before leading me further away from our friends and through a part of the school I haven't explored yet. I look back down at my hand that he is still holding as he leads me though the campus. I feel the heat flood my cheeks as he catches me. He just flashes me another one of his drop dead gorgeous smiles.
"We're here," he says as we reach a huge, old wooden fence. "And where exactly is 'here'"? I ask confused, looking right and left seeing the fence stretch as far as my eyes can see.
