Episode 13: The Equestrian 500

American Motorsport is a grand old Pastime, But Equestria was a stranger to this popular sport known as Stock Car Racing. That is, until a Stallion by the Name of Bill Prance Sr. founded The Equestria Racing Association. (ERA) Several Legends, such as Richard Pegasus, Dale Earthheart Sr and his son Junior, Chick and Donnie Hicks, and others raced in this series. This year's opening event, the Equestrian 500, was open invitation. And they weren't playing around when they said "Open Invitation." All ponies young and old were invited to race in the prestigious Event. Soon, Everyone got to work on their car. Building the chassis, engine, and everything, and of course perfecting it.

Pinkie: I'm so excited to race! How about you, Percy?

Percy: Yep. Got my ride ready. The event is just around the corner.

Race Day.

Rick Allen: Welcome to the Annual Running of the Equestrian 500! I'm Rick Allen, alongside Former Drivers Jeff Burton and Dale Earthheart Jr. 

J. Burton: I'm excited, how about you Junior?

Junior: Yeah. This is the race I always look forward to week in and week out. 

R. Allen: Pace car is down on pit road, and the Equestrian 500 is underway!

The roar of engines grew from the rolling start into full power. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie had the fastest cars on the track. They ran 1-2 the whole way, except during pit cycles. There were plenty of Stops during the 367 lap event.

Twilight: (Radio) I need Water! Something is wrong with the system!

The race didn't come without trouble, there were 8 accidents in the event. The last of Eight accidents happened with Ten Laps to go. Percy was behind Rainbow Dash and Pinkie on the Restart in Third Place. 

Rick Allen: 5 laps to go, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie in front, Percy in third in the #6, Green Flag back in the air!

Rainbow Dash: (radio) I spun the tires a little! I'm good.

R. Allen: Percy with an aggressive move, three wide into Turn One!

Pinkie's Spotter: Three Wide, in the middle, back to side by side with #6, Still there, Hold your line... All clear.

Pinkie Cleared Percy before the Third turn. With Two Laps to go, Percy Looked high. He was passing, but Before the Third Turn, Pinkie Crossed Over.

Rick Allen: Pinkie to the bottom of the track!

Junior: Slide Job!

R. Allen: Trying to take the lead away!

Junior: SLIDE JOB! She cleared him! Percy's gotta look low on the last lap. 

R. Allen: White Flag!

Junior: Here he comes! Here he comes!

In the third turn, Percy looked low.

Junior: Here He comes! He's got her, I tell you!

R. Allen: It's a drag race to the finish here they come...

J. Burton: Contact!

R. Allen: They hit each other, who is it going to be... PERCY!

Junior: Percy Got her!

J. Burton: Percy!

Junior: Percy Got her!

R. Allen: Oh my goodness, what a finish. The margin was Two one thousandths of a second.

Pinkie acknowledged Percy on his victory. A lot of ponys applauded the finish. It was the best Equestrian 500 ever.
