The Heights

The pizzas came and everyone began to feed their fucking faces.

"Lucas, where is Tallulah?" Jahshari asked him before taking a bite.

"I dont fucking know, she's somewhere around here... fuck I need a cigarette...anybody got a light?" He asked.

"Here man, I got you." Hodgy said.

He put his arm over Jahshari, leaned over and dug into his pocket and pulled out the lighter.

"Thanks bitch." Lucas said lighting his cigarette, and handing the lighter back to Hodgy.

"Aye take that shit outside!" I yelled

"Yeah, you know he got bitch nigga lungs!" Jasper shouted.

"Shut up!" Jahshari said to Jasper, throwing her crust at him.

I noticed Hodgy still had his arm around Jahshari, its not that I minded or any fucking thing. I mean, we were just really good friends, she was always there for me when I needed it. Yeah, okay, maybe I liked her some, I just know how Hodgy treats bitches, and Jahshari isnt one of them. Im just being protective, but I'll ask her later. I paid for the pizza, we left.

She walked beside me.

"The sun's setting." Jahshari exclaimed

"Yo Tyler, what are we doing tonight? " Jasper asked.

"Word, where the parties at?" Hodgy asked.

"Better question, where's the smoke at?" Lucas asked

"Oh, no worries, I got that." Hodgy assured Lucas, patting his pocket.

"Mmm, Im going home." Jahshari announced.

"You couldnt hang no way, Honey Dip!" Hodgy said to her.

"Not with yall goofs!" She stuck her tongue out to him, and began to walk away.

"Aye, you gone be ight?" I asked her

"Duhh, who in Ladera would mess with me? Besides, I got the switch on me, dont worry Tyler." Jahshari said smiling at me

"Tyler is we rolling out or nah?" Hodgy yelled

"Come on, nigga!" Jasper shouted.

Ladera at night was fucking chaos, especially between all the skaters. Apparently, some have a turf, but we dont give a fuck, we go where we want. I wasnt trying to get into shit tonight, but you never fucking know. We hit up a couple house parties, four to be exact, this being our last one. To me it was wack as fuck, bunch of fucking bum ass skaters drunk and doing acid, blasting heavy metal. Shit wasnt for me.

"Yo, im out." I told Hodgy.

He motioned for the rest of them to follow.

"Yo, what the fuck are we about to do?- This party is wack, its sweaty as fuck in there, and im getting hungry!" Jasper assessed

"Word, man, where the girlies at too?" Taco said

"All the bitches here sloppy as fuck."

"Yo, Tyler, what you gonna do?" Hodgy asked.

"Its fucking two a.m." Lucas announced

"Take it to the Heights." I said, turning and skating off in that direction.

"Awhh, hellz yeah!" Jasper said pedaling after me.

Ladera Heights was completely different from the main streets of Ladera, it almost seemed to be a whole other world. In the Heights it was always quiet, unless someone was throwing a party, but most of them have it in the day time. Every house had a swimming pool too, neat cut fucking lawns, 401ks and shit. I only come up here on two occassions. To fuck with people and..

"Yes?" The woman said cracking the door.

"Um, hi, we're friends with your daughter.. " I said shaky

"Oh, your friends of hers? Well, come in, let me go wake her up." She said.

"Yooo who's fucking crib did you bring us to?" Jasper said crashing down on the couch.

"Yeah, this shit classy as fuck." Lucas said.

"Mm, I wonder where you met this girl at, I hope she's sexy as fuck, she got all this money!" Hodgy scoffed.

"Listen, just dont fucking break anything." I reminded them.

"What the fuck are you guys doing in my house?" a voice said

Everyone looked in the direction that the voice came from.

"HONEY DIP!!" everyone except me screamed.

Jahshari was at the bottom of the stairs, wiping her eyes.

"Yoooooo why didnt you say this was Shari's crib? I would've been more ignorant!" Jasper said.

"Fuck yeah." Lucas said.

"Damn girl, you even look good when you get outta bed!" Hodgy said pushing his way between Jasper and Lucas.

"That shit is fire though." Jasper agreed, pointing to her shirt.

She was wearing a big pink supreme jersey, roses disappearing in the fabric, with white accents, and white thigh-high stockings. Bows at the top of them.

"Supreme is my favorite." she said smiling.

"Now, what brings you to my house at 2:45 in the morning?"

"Shit," I shrugged.

"Nothing better to do." Hodgy added.

Jahshari looked at me deep, she knew there was something I wasnt telling her..

"Well, you guys hungry?" she asked switching her attention back to the group.

"Hell yeah!!" Jasper said

"Come raid the kitchen then, just clean up your mess!" Shari said, showing them into the room.

"Jahshari, whats all this?!"

Her father walked into the kitchen.

Everyone stopped eating and stared.

"Uh, my friends are just crashing here for tonight, you know, trying to stay out of trouble?.." she staggered to reply.

He took a long pause and then nodded.

"I guess thats okay, make sure they clean up their mess."

Everyone went back to eating and yelling. Jahshari walked past me and pulled on my shirt. We went out back, by her pool. She sat down in one of the chairs.

"Sit," she instructed. "Whats going on?"

I sat and rubbed the back of my neck. I sighed.

"Cant go home."

"Are you and your mom going at it again?"

I nodded.

"She just wont fucking listen! that broad, I swear-"

I jumped up, she stopped me in the middle of ranting.

"Tyler it doesn't matter, we'll fix it later, no need to get upset dear, is that all?"

Jahshari stood, rubbing my shoulder.

"Yeah...." I said

"Tyler, dont lie to me...." She added.

"You know when I lie, so its no use." I reminded her.

"Just making sure." Jahshari smiled walking back towards the house.

I followed.

"You know the front door is way easier than me having to climb up to your window." I mentioned.

She giggled loudly.
