Sunday

"Kai," Peter whined.

Kai who was currently sleeping peacefully, let out a small grunt in acknowledgement but still continued to sleep.

Peter let out a small indignant huff before throwing aside his blanket and climbing onto his boyfriend, straddling Kai's hips.

"Kai," he whined again. "I'm hungry; come have breakfast with me."

Kai groaned.

"Fine. But first-"

Before Peter could even ask what he was doing, Kai had already flipped the both of them over so that he was hovering over a very flustered Peter.

"A morning kiss please?" He asked sweetly.

Peter blushed a bright red and squirmed underneath Kai. Unfortunately, he couldn't escape as Kai had taken both of his wrists and pinned them above his head. He was trapped but he didn't mind it all that much.

"I hate you," Peter joked.

Kai smiled down at him and said," I love you too, Peter Bellam."

He then leaned down and pressed his lips firmly against the other's.

Peter let an appreciative groan and Kai smiled into the kiss. He loved the sounds that he could draw forth from his boyfriend. Peter's small, harsh gasps, his low moans- all of it sounded like music to Kai's ears.

"Kai!"

The two sprang apart- both staring at each other in complete and utter shock. Kai's mom was only supposed to come back at ten tonight; it was still the morning. They both frowned at each other- something must be wrong.

"Is that-" Peter asked.

"My mom," Kai finished. "Yeah I'd better go and see what's wrong. She never comes back early- it's weird."

Kai hopped off his bed and pulled a random shirt on before making his way downstairs- leaving Peter alone in his room.

"Kai!" Willow yelled again.

"I'm here," he muttered when he made it to the kitchen. "How come you're-"

Kai froze.

In all his seventeen years he'd never seen his mother look so angry. Her green eyes had narrowed into slits and were burning a hole into Kai's heart. Her fiery, red hair looked even wilder than usual and she was drumming her sharp nails on the kitchen counter- each tap caused the hairs on the nape of his neck to rise. Her lips were pulled down into a disappointing frown.

Kai winced. Whatever was about to happen next, was not going to be good.

"You didn't tell me you were having a friend over," she stated, calmly.

Kai swallowed thickly.

"It's just Peter, I didn't think it was necessary to tell you," Kai mumbled, keeping his eyes trained on anything other than his mother.

"Well, it is necessary, especially when I get a call from Colin Bellam at eight at night telling me that my 'delinquent' son convinced his Peter to runaway and that if I didn't return his son before the new week started, he'd get me fired from my job."

Kai pursed his lips. He should've known Colin would do something but he didn't think he would sink that low. Then again, this was Colin Bellam, the same one who beat his own son.

Kai let out a long sigh. "I can explain."

"Too late," she barked at him and Kai flinched. A pained look sprung into her eyes for a second before they were swamped with anger once more. "Tell Peter he has thirty minutes to get ready before his dad gets here."
